Gateway For the past three months, volunteers have been rebuilding the cabin to fit nearly 40 movie seats. Through an eBay search and some negotiating, Bonito bought the seats for $5.99 each from an AMC Theater going out of business in Texas.
Laptop Parts The township has already paid for between $3,000 and $5,000 worth of electrical work to wire the planned theater, said Bonito, who also sent out letters to Panasonic soliciting for movie equipment.
Software With volunteer labor and donations, township Parks and Recreation Director Roland Sparling estimates about $200,000 has been saved.
Hard Drives "It would have cost a lot more with private contracting," Sparling said, adding that the six cabins that are mostly complete were not up to code and had to be stripped inside and out. And the work continues.
Electronics "This has been such a cooperative effort, and we're not just going to stop here," Bonito said. "We want to have an amphitheater down by the lake."
