Cons: none at all... well it used to run a little hot (before the new heat sink), but what AMD doesnt....

Other Thoughts: In a gaming comp with 4 Gb ram, 512 graphics, all the fun stuff. Runs everything, love this little processor. I have built around 10 comps all running AMD, never had one fail!

Speedy Proc

Pros: I can say this processor is quick espically coming from a 2800+ Barton core. From the time I press my power button my desktop loads under 15 seconds. It runs games smoothly as well. I can run Oblivion maxed out @ 1440X900 and it runs without a hitch. I plan to overclock it after I let it burn in. What I'm the most happy with is how cool it runs. @ idle 25C under load I have seen it no higher than 32C Most of the time it stays @ 30C. My case also has good air flow it runs 25C to 30C. This proc is a great buy.

Cons: none solid product from AMD

Other Thoughts: My system Abit AX78 4600+ X2 7600GT 1GB of Crucial 667 MHZ Ram. 160GB Seagate SATA II Newegg is the only place to by parts. No other supplier compairs.

Pros: Low on funds so I went for the price point, running an ECS A770M-A mobo and these two low cost items run great!

Cons: Not the fastest processor but still pretty fast for the $$$$.

Throw another enemy on the barbie. The Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane makes it easy. With 2 2.5GHz cores each with their own 512KB cache, you have the power to do anything you want. Pros: that I bought this CPU. Low TDP, overclocks just great (2850MHz @ 1.35Volts). There is nothing you can do wrong with this CPU!

Cons: As with all other CPUs (AMD or Intel), stock fans are quite useless. With stock fan, temp at stock speed was 10 degrees higher - got an AC Freezer 64 Pro. Overclocked at 2.85GHz its at 45degrees under full load.

Pros: Runs good.Less than $100. Overclocks to 3.2ghz on air.

Other Thoughts: Overclocked up to 3.2 stable. I run it 24/7 At 3.0 100% load 45*C temp.

Pros: my first FX! drastic performance jump over my old s939 a64 3000 venice. unlocked multi, so i can get myself into all kinds of trouble!

Pros: I opted for an AMD FX-62 @2.8 gHz CPU instead of the FX-64 or the AMD X2 6000. I was afraid that heat may be a problem: The FX-64 as does the 6000, both at 3.0 gHz, dissipate 125 watts, The FX-62 dissipates 89 watts. The FX-64 gHz was not offered by Newegg at the purchase time. My deciding factor was in reading online reviews of the heat problems with the 125 watt units.

Other Thoughts: In my opinion, Intel is doing unfair trade practices upon AMD. Intel is coercing hardware vendors to use 90% of Intel CPUs rather than the competitor (AMD) CPUs. In my opinion, AMD makes a better CPU and they have done quite a bit of innovation. Intel is using strong arm tactics to keep AMD in the background. AMD has an opened antitrust suit law suit against Intel. Google ""breakfree amd"" to find out more info and ongoing updates on the law suit.

DO *NOT* put a 1333MHz CPU in. They do not warn about this enough a lot of people buy the wrong CPU. - This chipset on the PDSMI+ is a total whiner with memory. The best config is 1GB DIMMs, *4. Do NOT use 667MHZ 2GB sticks. It is documented, but its hard to find. 2GB chipset DO NOT work at 667Mhz. KVR667D2E5/1GI chips run perfect, prime95 for a week, with NMI/crash on single or multibit errors turned on in the BIOS. - Update to BIOS 1.3. Superb quality -- Case build, raid trays, I have absolutely no complaints. Excellent driver CD and manual, just go down the list and install. This is the ninth 1U Supermicro I ve deployed and the first based on the Core 2 Duo Architecture. I put a Xeon 3040 in it and ran two instances of prime95 torture test on it for 60+ hours and the heatsink is not even warm to the touch. Did I mention high quality. A really nice computer is like a really nice car to me when every little detail is just right. linux

The motherboard supports PCI-e but make sure you notice that this only comes with a PCI riser. I have to track down a PCI-e riser which is cheap but nobody seems to have it in stock. I only have ever put Crucial brand RAM in these that is listed on the recommended list. I m sure it works well with others but I have a ZERO DOA/failure rate and you could not get me to waste my time on anything less. used laptops

BIOS is nice and easy to use, PXE booting is nice and works out of the box. No issues putting in my components and is easy to work with. I didn t find it a pain to get two HDs into it. Has nice upgrade paths to 8 GB ram and a quad core CPU. cameras
