Cons: none at all... well it used to run a
little hot (before the new heat sink), but what AMD doesnt....
Other Thoughts: In a gaming comp with 4 Gb
ram, 512 graphics, all the fun stuff. Runs everything, love this
little processor. I have built around 10 comps all running AMD,
never had one fail!
Speedy Proc
- Pros: I can say this processor is quick
espically coming from a 2800+ Barton core. From the time I press my
power button my desktop loads under 15 seconds. It runs games
smoothly as well. I can run Oblivion maxed out @ 1440X900 and it
runs without a hitch. I plan to overclock it after I let it burn
in. What I'm the most happy with is how cool it runs. @ idle 25C
under load I have seen it no higher than 32C Most of the time it
stays @ 30C. My case also has good air flow it runs 25C to 30C.
This proc is a great buy.
- Cons: none solid product from AMD
- Other Thoughts: My system Abit AX78 4600+ X2
7600GT 1GB of Crucial 667 MHZ Ram. 160GB Seagate SATA II Newegg is
the only place to by parts. No other supplier compairs.
- Pros: Low on funds so I went for the price
point, running an ECS A770M-A mobo and these two low cost items run
great!
- Cons: Not the fastest processor but still
pretty fast for the $$$$.

CPU Buying Guide
- Pros: Runs surprisingly cool. Noticeable
performance boost over my 3800.
- Cons: None...love it.
- Other Thoughts: AMD or Intel I'm just glad
they both exist. Competition has given us two excellent product
lines.
- Pros: great processor. runs very cool. easy to
install chip and heatsink.
- Cons: none so far
- Pros: this cpu was an amazing upgrade from my
Athlon 64 3800+ single core. The change in performance is
considerable and very noticable
- Cons: At first i thought there wasnt any
thermal padte but then i saw that it was pre-attached to heatsink
that was provided. If only i could give this a 10 out of 5
- Other Thoughts: Great cpu for all who widh to
have a great gaming and or media rig
- Pros: fit right in no problemz intalling.vista
popz up really fast!! i thought i was losing it for a sec..i'm glad
i got this cpu before the price went up..good form amd
- Cons: huh ...i'm sorry what did u say ..con
spffff
- Other Thoughts: can't wait to upgrade i'm sure
i would be blown out my mind from the spreed. this was my first x2
build..but my girl has a x2 1.9 on her laptop and it flies...i
needed a new studio computer so i went with this cpu. runz smooth
and cool. haven't overclocked it yet but i can't wait to do
so...really no need.... ...eh well..good job amd
- Pros: cheap, dual core, easy installation,
runs very cool (cooler than the system temp! ), way better than my
old cruddy pentium 4
- Cons: didn't come with thermal grease... not
much of a con is it
- Other Thoughts: Yay!

Throw another enemy on the barbie. The Athlon 64 X2 4800+ Brisbane
makes it easy. With 2 2.5GHz cores each with their own 512KB cache,
you have the power to do anything you want. HyperTransport
technology increases system performance by giving each core a
dedicated cache of memory and reducing I/O bottlenecks by
increasing bandwidth and reducing latency.
- Pros: that I bought this CPU. Low TDP,
overclocks just great (2850MHz @ 1.35Volts). There is nothing you
can do wrong with this CPU!
- Cons: As with all other CPUs (AMD or Intel),
stock fans are quite useless. With stock fan, temp at stock speed
was 10 degrees higher - got an AC Freezer 64 Pro. Overclocked at
2.85GHz its at 45degrees under full load.
- Pros: Runs good.Less than $100. Overclocks to
3.2ghz on air.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Overclocked up to 3.2 stable.
I run it 24/7 At 3.0 100% load 45*C temp.
- Pros: Very affordable dual-core processor.
Perfect for home/office user interested in running multiple
applications.
- Cons: None.
- Pros: Cheap dual core cpu that runs cool! AMD
has some nice utilities on their website, check them out.Heatsink
easy to install, no more using screw drivers!
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Stock HS Fan works just
fine on it's own, no upgrading needed. 800 mhz memory will only run
at 700 something mhz with this cpu.
- Pros: Very nice CPU. Quick. Easy installation
with no trouble at all.
- Cons: None so far.
The Athlon 64 FX-62 runs two cores at a lively 2.8GHz with 1MB of
L2 cache per core. Built with AMD64 architecture, it was designed
to run today's 32-bit software and provide an easy migration to the
ever increasing number of 64-bit applications. And since it has two
cores, true multi-tasking is possible. So, when you run something
in the background, it's truly in the background.
With Cool'n'Quiet AMD proves that green isn't only in their logo.
This technology steps down the core clock when full power isn
necessary. This reduces the power needed for the processor and the
system which can lower your energy costs.
AMD Live! turns your system into the ultimate home entertainment
PC. It makes it easy to consolidate and manage all of your music,
video and photo files for easy viewing and playback. It also makes
it easy to view movies in one room while sending music to another
without skipping or stuttering.
- Pros: my first FX! drastic performance jump
over my old s939 a64 3000 venice. unlocked multi, so i can get
myself into all kinds of trouble!
- Cons: unlocked multi, so i can get myself into
all kinds of trouble :) it's not a phenom . seems to be
running too warm... mobo (crosshair) reports 42-45c every time i've
checked, and that's stock with zalman thermal grease on a ZM
cnps9500 am2 at over 2300 rpm... maybe it's time to reseat and try
some A.S.5.
- Other Thoughts: current pricing makes me want
a stock-pile of these... especially since my current one seems to
be running too warm at stock .
- Pros: easy to OC, i have an ABIT AN-M2 mobo
and i just changed the multiplier to 15.5x and the FSB to 203mhz
and upped the voltage to 1.475v runs at a steady 3.14ghz ON AIR!!!
used a zalman aluminum/copper hsf
- Cons: mmmm i think all the cons will go on the
mobo review
- Other Thoughts: good proc, fast fast fast!!!
USE ARCTIC SILVER setup: Abit AN-M2, AMD FX-62 (3.14 ghz) 2gb ddr2
g.skill ram, sata LITE-ON dvd drive, BFG Tech 8800 GTS OC
(310mb)(614/740) 600w cooler master psu, 250gb seagate barracuda
hd
- Pros: Fast Processor. Notice a big difference
between this and the 4600+ Windsor I had overclocked to 2.8.
- Cons: None
- Pros: I opted for an AMD FX-62 @2.8 gHz CPU
instead of the FX-64 or the AMD X2 6000. I was afraid that heat may
be a problem: The FX-64 as does the 6000, both at 3.0 gHz,
dissipate 125 watts, The FX-62 dissipates 89 watts. The FX-64 gHz
was not offered by Newegg at the purchase time. My deciding factor
was in reading online reviews of the heat problems with the 125
watt units.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: In my opinion, Intel is doing
unfair trade practices upon AMD. Intel is coercing hardware vendors
to use 90% of Intel CPUs rather than the competitor (AMD) CPUs. In
my opinion, AMD makes a better CPU and they have done quite a bit
of innovation. Intel is using strong arm tactics to keep AMD in the
background. AMD has an opened antitrust suit law suit against
Intel. Google ""breakfree amd"" to find out more info and ongoing
updates on the law suit.
- Pros:
It works (or atleast the LED indicator tells me so) laptop battery
-
Cons:
Its rather large and bulky, takes up some valuable extra
room in my computer bag! The swivel plug is hard to move in
and out of position. thinkpad

Other Thoughts:
I would not buy this again. microsoft
-
Pros:
Stick it in your backpack n your ready to go. This is
perfect if you are a college student for using at the

Your 1K+ investment can be lost in an instant but with this

-
Pros:
Effective cooling provided a well-known manufacturer.
Very good quality build and good engineering. software
-
Cons:
In the last week I bought two of these. Thermalright
STILL has not fixed the quality control problem of not
ensuring a flat heatsink base. Both of my Ultra 120
Extremes required lots of sweat, wet-dry sandpaper, and
time time spent lapping to get the heatsink bases flat.
Come one Thermalright! Your good reputation won t last
forever if you keep doing this. These complaints are
nothing new. Also, Thermalright needs to work on the
screw-in retention clamp. It is just not rigid enough and
does not put enough downforce on the heatsink base-CPU. hard drives
-
Other Thoughts:
If you think this heatsink is huge,
you obviously have not used top-tier heatsinks
before that are designed for high performance CPUs. As far
as size and weight go, the U120E is nowhere near the
largest or heaviest. I m getting about 2C cooler CPU
operation with the U120E compared to the Tuniq Tower 120;
3C better compared to Zalman 9700NT. System used for
temperature measurement/comparison: Abit IP35-E, Intel
Q6600 at 3.5GHz (1.1GHZ overclock) running at full load,
very well ventilated case. electronics
-
Pros:
Mounting is solid and secure canon
-
Cons:
Size, Weight desktop pc
-
Other Thoughts:
Just wanted to explain a little about this thing. Yes it
is huge, which can be a pro or a con, depending, but if you
buy this you should already know that. Taking this straight
from the box and attaching a 120mm Panaflo to it gave a
drop of about 8 to 10 celcius over a Zalman 9700. With the
cooler lapped, temps dropped another 8 to 10 degrees. With
the processor lapped, temps dropped another 5 or so
degrees. A 5000+ Black Edition overclocked to 3480MHz and
running below 27C idle, is quite an achievement for air
cooling, and in turn, this cooler paired with a good fan
and some time and knowledge, outperforms or matches some
water cooling setups that could be 4 times the price. For
$100 or less, this WILL surely make your temps drop
significantly keeping on par with water setups for half (or
more) the price. desktop computers
-
Pros:
for the price it just can t be beat. I use it with a
15 MacbookPro and it fits fine. I would imagine
it would fit the 17 models as well because it
now comes with an extra bar to widen the support
underneath. think pad
-
Cons:
none yet, but we ll see repair
-
Other Thoughts:
There is no active cooling but for my laptop I don t
need it. The usb coolers will just suck the power from the
laptop and I didn t want that. Love the fact that it is
easy to adjust height. data recovery
-
Pros:
Easy to use with my 17 Dell Inspiron. cisco
-
Cons:
None keyboard
There are better options.
-
Pros:
Light, thin, and easy to pack (when LEGO-like
lifters are removed). Swivels very
nicely. Rubber pieces help your laptop stay in place. monitor
-
Cons:
17 laptops are not best suited for this
stand. If you carry a lot of stuff in your bag and you
carry this stand, expect to lose the plastic
lifters that attach to the base. It
happened to me several times. desktop
-
Other Thoughts:
I am now looking for a solution that includes everything
in one single part. I will miss the swivel action of this
stand but I won t have to worry about losing the tiny
little black cones. infosys

Pros:
None that I can think of refurbished laptops
-
Cons:
My son took this to college to lock-up his laptop in his
dorm room. When he needed to unlock the laptop one morning
to take to class, the lock wouldn t open. The
combination we set would no longer worked. Since he had to
have this PC in class that morning, and he was running
late, he had no choice but to force it out of the back of
the laptop, damaging the case. wipro
-
Other Thoughts:
Targus replaced this lock, but my son refuses to use it,
and I don t blame him. DO NOT buy this lock! lap top
-
Pros:
great if it would work.... refurbished
-
Cons:
This is the most total piece of garbage lock I ve
ever owned! The combination will not remain static,
I ve set it three times within 15 mins. of owning it
and the thing will not hold the code. I read the
directions; made sure it was the code I wanted, and the
thing changed every time! I near stripped the screw trying
to reset it on my laptop. For a moment I thought I was
going to have to do the hacksaw
thing too. STAY AWAY from this product!! I had
to revise this review because of the curse words I used
previously. Nuff said. memory
-
Other Thoughts:
I usually like Targus products, but this lock is
garbage. intel
I don t see how this could protect anything
-
Pros:
It is a deterrent to amateur thieves and kids. as400
PSU in place, as there
isn't alot of room for it.
- Other Thoughts: This thing is a beast! A
little on the heavy side, but lots of room. This is a great buy if
you are looking for air flow, space, and expandability.
- Pros: Loads of room, and drive bays, included
fans. What's not to like
- Cons: This. The English language manual leaves
a lot to be desired as far as clarity is concerned. The pictures
are not worth a thousand words, they are just confusing alongside
the poor descriptions and directions.
- Other Thoughts: If you buy a 2U heatsink/fan
for the CPUs you put in this box and use it for another board other
than what it was designed for, the two intake ducts designed for
the 1207FX CPUs deliver surpising cooling that will remove any
doubts you might have about this case. And buy a real PS, OK It
would be a waste to put anything under 650W in this case. Thank
about it.

Who says cutting edge cool can't coincide with a hulking amount of
space Thermaltake's VA8004BWS begs to differ. This massive case
doesn't need any fancy words to show its edge of cool, one picture
is more than enough. But don't think this is just another pretty
face. With an unbelievable eleven external 5.25" drive bays, and
six internal 3.5" drive bays, this case has room for whatever you
need of it and then some.
With such room, airflow is a natural concern. Not to worry. In the
rear you have one 90mm fan, and on 120mm blue LED fan. On top you
have an additional 90mm fan, and a 120mm fan in the front. The side
panel comes with dual air ducts for optimum airflow upon your CPUs.
With all this, what more could be asked of it How about the
durability of 1.0mm steel to protect your investment, or the ease
of quick connect drive bays. This may indeed be the total package
you e been looking for.
- Pros: Drive mounting is a easy as pie, case is
really well contructed, Like the option of being locking case
open microswitch. Wires were easily identifiable.
- Cons: None really.
- Other Thoughts: Well worth the money
- Pros: INTEL BUILDERS- I'm a carpenter and
hired my build done ($100). I have 3.0duocore intel 1333fsb cpu.
first thing is yes....you can remove the 4 screws holding the
air-guides on and replace w/ 90mm fans. Hiding the wires is another
story I used blue electricians tape and they are visible. One
thing I learned that didn't come across during my research is these
video cards take up TWO slots. I have 2 cards SLI and used four
slots right off the bat. The circular door on top w/ the nice 1394
and 2 usb's had to be removed (hub not door) because my MB asus
striker extreme had a 5\4pin and the usb's connection coming down
from the top is 5pin. Luckily we sqeezed a dual usb card inbetween
the video cards. Another post here mention about the doors staying
open on unlevel surfaces. This can be annusance. I used a couple
pennies for shims and still have trouble but the cooling abilities
of this unit far surpases the trouble of holding the door open
while opening and closing my 20x Lite-on burner
- Cons: Pro's continued- builder moved power
button to bottom moved 120 led fan next three up and WD Raptor 10k
sata HD is in front fan case-middle slot. Next 6 empty then top is
burner. 700w OCZ PSU w\led fan fit nice and my builder loved the
mesh harness over the wires. Haveing 6 fans I didn't feel the need
for the top fan don't know if it would've worked anyway with so
many wires comming out of psu.
- Other Thoughts: With the Zalman led cpu fan my
cpu and MB temps are high 30's C. Already have dust building up on
Zalman, but you know...can of air. For an air-cooled system this is
as open as you're gonna get. OH YEAH if you had your heart set on
couple scorpion fan gaurds for 90's on side-no joy- fan covers are
80mm. 4gigs 800mhz ddr2 corsair balistix w\led's. Bottom line I
love my new Christmas tree (_._)
- Pros: very well constructed. wires Easily
identifiable. if your looking into a case that locks and keeps the
valuables safe then look at this unit
- Cons: case was a bit on the heavy side when it
was empty.
- Other Thoughts: after putting the power supply
in i found there was a metal box on the inside of the case that was
removable. reason for removing was to get better air flow going
into the power supply it's self.i really like the tray found at the
bottom for small item storage.
- Pros: Comes with 4 large fans that are very
quiet. Has lots of room and easy to remove HDD holder with a fan
attach. The front looks slick with the grid like covers that can be
reinserted if need be. The storage bin at the bottom is nice.
- Cons: The audio on the case does not with my
motherboard, EVGA nForce 780i sli, even though both manual say they
are compatible. The firewire is a pain to hook up to the
motherboard since all the wires are separated. It would be nice to
provide a block to make it easier to install. The tool free clamps
for the cards make it harder to install the larger graphic cards
nowadays.
- Other Thoughts: I love the case, even though
it is larger than some full towers. At first hard to get the power
supply in.
A long Power Supply Will Fit (To the person below)
- Pros: To the guy below who said that he could
not get a 7 inch power supply in. What you need to do is take out
the usb port on the top. With that out you are able to get a longer
power supply. The problem that I ran into was the fact that if you
put a long power supply in it blocks the fan bracket holes. To
remedy this you could a. take off the fan (something I didn't want
to do), or B. take off the top usb port, the two screws underneath
(one holds the external usbm the other the plastic trim on top),
finally remove the plastic trim being careful not to break the
plastic tabs (easier to do from underneath). Once I got down to
just the metal grill I mounted a fan to the top using a couple of
screws and some standoffs I had laying around. I just dropped the
screws through the metal grate(the screw head has to be big enough
so it doesn't go through the greating), through the fan, and used
the standoffs as nuts to hold the fan up. Seems to work fine. Also,
it might be easier, if you take
- Cons: off the backside of the case and insert
the power supply though there, especially if you have the case
loaded with other hardware. You also might have to take out (or at
least push forward you other front drives depending on how much
room you need. Hope that helps.
