Laptop Computer "If it is true that the airport is truly up for sale, then I would urge the coalition (formed by the four towns surrounding the airport) or the county to consider purchasing the airport to keep it a recreational type of airport as it is now, with no jets, or to convert it to open space," Taylor said.

"We signed the final agreement of sale to purchase the property along Route 528, better known as the Luyver property, " Boyer said. Acquisition of the property, which cost $1.57 million, was funded with a combination of township, county and state money. The mayor, who announced at Monday's township committee meeting that the deal officially went through last week, credited Committeemen George Chidley and Mark Roselli for identifying the parcel and recognized the entire committee for supporting the municipality's open space program.

Desktop Computer Neighboring towns and residents have opposed the airport's plans to expand its runways to make it suitable as a "reliever" landing site for the Philadelphia International Airport. Opponents have cited noise and safety concerns.

Software Skarbowski said the fact that the airport is for sale could be "really bad or really good" for neighborhoods surrounding the airport. She said she wonders what would happen if someone "with all the money and time in the world to sit around and wait for the expansion" purchased it.

Hard Drives The township and members of the grassroots Citizens Against Runway Expansion have been fighting the airport's proposal to lengthen its runway from 3,911 feet to 5,500 feet and widen it from 50 to 100 feet in order to serve as a reliever for Philadelphia International.

Electronics Reliever status, granted by the Federal Aviation Administration in 1982, would allow the airport to accommodate jets larger than the recreational and small corporate aircraft currently using the Lumberton airport. Cargo and commercial planes would still be prohibited.
