   The Prentice Hall Test Manager has to be installed, see IV below for instructions. All other files on this CD-ROM can be opened directly from the CD as read-only files. These files can also be moved to the hard drive in Windows Explorer. Select the directory or file that you want to copy to your hard drive, and drag it to the appropriate directory on your hard drive.

1. Computer Sales The PHTM directory contains Prentice Hall Test Manager which is an integrated PC-compatible test-generation and classroom-management software package. The package permits instructors to design and create tests, to maintain student records, and to provide on-line practice testing for students. The instructor's password and instructions for using the Prentice Hall Test Manager can be found in the PHTM GUIDE Directory on this CD-ROM. The Prentice Hall Test Manager has to be installed, see IV below for instructions.

2. Computer Hardware The PHTM GUIDE directory contains the instructor's password and instructions for using the Prentice Hall Test Manager. This is available in Adobe Acrobat PDF format (tm_4.3.pdf).

3. Printers The TIF directory contains documents in Microsoft Word 97 format.

4. Technology The IM directory contains documents in Microsoft Word 97 format.

5. Mainframe The IM APP directory contains documents in Microsoft Excel 97 format and Microsoft Word 97 format.

4. Network Installation Instructions for Prentice Hall Test Manager

1. Digital Cameras Click on the Start Menu and select Run.

2. Desktops Type x:\phtm\setup and click OK. ("x" being the drive letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive).

3. Cognos Follow the installation prompts. Installation will begin and a progress bar will appear on the screen.

4. Hosting Click Finish to complete the installation process.

5. Netfinity The instructor's password and instructions for using the Prentice Hall Test Manager can be found in the PHTM GUIDE Directory on this CD-ROM.

Internet (Note: Some users of the Windows NT operating system may encounter the following error upon installation of the Test Manager program:
"Error- The program files failed to self register D:\winnt\system32\comcat.dll ; D:\winnt\system32\graphs32.ocx." If this occurs, continue by clicking on "OK." The Test Manager should run normally).
