I decided to try out the daily special-chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes. The steak and mashed potatoes were drowning in country-style gravy. I was disappointed to find that I couldn't substitute anything for the coleslaw or corn.

The entire restaurant was recently remodeled, complete with new booths, ceiling, floors, bathrooms, lighting, counter tops, siding, a new server station and a resurfaced parking lot. The owners of the Family Table are Stacey and Scott Gossling.

The Family Table used to be an old A&W restaurant. Stacey Gossling mentioned that in conversation with one of her customers, the customer remembered going to an old root beer stand located there when she was a child.

Going to the Family Table now, you will not see the old orange and brown booths and flatware to match. Although the new décor is nice, I think I might miss the way it was.
