Thinkpad Schundler said Democratic power broker George E. Norcross 3d's active role in keeping the Pennsauken island open for development, as reported in an Inquirer article Sunday, exemplified the state's pay-to-play politics.

Travelstar In September, the New Jersey Natural Lands Trust, a state body not affiliated with the nonprofit Natural Lands Trust, turned down the donation of the island as a preserve after all of its state representatives voted against it.

Software Both parties have a political stake in the matter. Democrats are allied with the state's powerful building unions. Republicans are eager to make supporters of the environmentalists.

Canon Environmental groups angling for federal protection for the island will meet next week with U.S. Rep. Rob Andrews (D., N.J.), who has said he would study the issue.
