Thinkpad (AXcess News) Hong Kong - A few years ago, when my oldest daughter was about five, I was writing an article for a tribute issue of Jade Screen Magazine which marked the 30th anniversary ofBruce Lee'sdeath at age 32. (vol. 1 issue 5, available as a back issue through www.hongkong-store.com) I had a DVD of Enter the Dragon on my computer and I was going through a scene frame by frame to witness a then 18 year old Jackie Chan as Lee strikes him with a staff. Chan spins around to face the camera and then falls to the floor.( It was a blink and you miss it moment.) My daughter came to see what I was looking at and asked who those men were. She chuckled when I told her that one was a very young Jackie Chan, whom she was familiar with. But when I told her the other was Bruce Lee, she said, "Who is he?"

Microsoft Who indeed. I explained to her that even 30 years after his death, people still remember and want to be like Bruce Lee.I showed her a scene from Shaolin Soccer where Chan Kwok-kwan plays the goalie who imitates Bruce's look and mannerisms. I showed her the scene from Jackie Chan's City Hunter where Jackie's character is attacked by two towering men in a movie theater and learns how to deal with their height advantage as he studies the fight between Bruce and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in Game of Death, conveniently playing on the screen. This satisfied her five year old brain that he was important. But I wonder how many people really know who he was and what impact he had.

According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

Laptop Computers Bruce Lee was born "Lee Jun Fan" on November 27, 1940 in San Francisco. His father was an actor and moved his family back to Hong Kong in 1941. Bruce appeared in the 1948 film, Wealth is Like a Dream with his father and later played his first lead role in 1950's The Kid. By 1954 Bruce began training in wing chung while appearing in minor films. In 1958 Bruce Lee returned to the states and soon began to combine his wing chun training with other techniques. After finishing college he wrote a book called Chinese Gung Fu: The Philosophical Art of Self Defense. Soon after he began to develop his own style called Jeet Kune Do: The Way of the Intercepting Fist and opened several schools. Besides teaching his style and giving demonstrations, he returned to acting in 1966 when he was cast as The Green Hornet's side kick, Kato, for a television series which only lasted one season. He continued to act in the US in films li! ke Marlowe and made several guest appearances as a martial arts instructor to a blind private eye in the TV series, Longstreet. He also had occasional guest appearances in the tv series, Ironside and Batman. Returning to Hong Kong for a visit, Bruce was surprised to find he had a fan base already. And so Raymond Chow of Golden Harvest approached him, offering the lead in The Big Boss aka Fists of Fury. (not to be confused with his next, even more popular film, Fist of Fury aka The Chinese Connection ) Soon he became the first Asian superstar. But he died at 32 of a brain edema, which an autopsy said was caused by a strange reaction to a prescription painkiller called Equagesic, a month before the release of his first U.S. film, Enter the Dragon. One has to wonder where his career would go from there. He had been working on Game of Death when he passed.! A documentary and book called Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey gave the plot of the film as it was meant to have been filmed. It proved to fans that the film was better than the doctored version Golden Harvest released five years after Lee's death using doubles and film tricks.

His first film with Lo Wei was New Fist of Fury, a film which picks up the battle against the Japanese with Chan as the hero and Nora Miao reprising her role as the sister of Lee's character. The film flopped but Lo Wei was stubborn and continued to put Chan in roles meant to make him into the next Bruce Lee.
