Gramp's Microwave Peanut Brittle

Ingredients

• 1 c Sugar
• 1 ts Vanilla
• 1/2 c White Karo syrup
• 1 ts Soda
• 2 c Peanuts
• 1/8 ts Salt; optional
• 1 tb Margarine or butter

Directions

1. Combine sugar and syrup in a quart microwave container and microwave on high for five minutes.
2. Remove from microwave and stir in peanuts.
3. Microwave on high for two minutes; stir and microwave for two minutes; stir and microwave for one minute.
4. Remove from microwave.
5. Stir in margarine, vanilla, salt and soda.
6. Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet and let cool.
7. When hardened, break into pieces.
