Desktop Computer The $1,300 state grant approved for the association will allow them to conduct water sampling and testing this spring and summer, Schneider said.
Notebooks Andover Township is also slated to receive a grant, worth $2,500, to prepare a GIS base map depicting all land parcels and incorporating environmental and zoning data and to delineate environmentally sensitive areas within the township, according to the DEP.
Lenovo Another $2,500 grant was awarded to design a booklet, called Gardening with Nature, to increase the publics understanding of the relationship between land and activities, as well as the activitys impact on Sussex Countys natural resources.
Hard Drive Fredon Mayor John Richardson said his township was awarded a $2,500 matching grant from the state. The money will be used to help the newly-created Fredon Environmental Commission get its feet wet.
Travelstar The commission was formed a year ago, Richardson said, and the grant money will be used to complete an environmental resource inventory of the township to identify natural, archeological and historical resources in Fredon.
Gateway Were moving toward the completion of our master plan (for Fredon). Weve done a lot of work already, Richardson said. Now, were filling in the missing pieces, and the environmental commission is one of the missing pieces.
Laptop Parts Fifteen months ago, Richardson said he organized the townships first large-scale town meeting, which consisted of every consultant and board in the municipality, to coordinate efforts as Fredon grows. Richardson expects the master plan to be fully completed within another six to nine months.
Software The recipients of this years grants help us statewide in achieving our goals, said DEP Commissioner Bradley Campbell. The stewardship of local environmental agencies has helped the department achieve a goal of working in partnership with local governments on innovative ideas for grassroots projects.
Hard Drives Monies will be distributed to recipients in the form of matching grants.
