Milwaukee Optima Batteries, a division of Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls, has announced the latest addition to its line of YellowTop batteries with the introduction of the dual-purpose Group 75/25 and 35 models. Both models were designed to handle the demands put on vehicles by a growth of in-car electronics.
YellowTop batteries operate with Optimas SpiralCell technology, which uses a chemical reaction different from normal lead-acid and gel-cell batteries that is intended to cut down on recharge times. The dual-purpose nature of each of the new models provides vehicles with starting power for the engine while maintaining a steady current for electronics such as larger stereos and high-scale lighting.
The new models are designed for use in cars with hot tuners such as the Subaru WRX and Mitsubishi EVO, as well as domestic sport compacts and import SUVs. Additionally, the Group 35 has been configured to fit into European-made vehicles such as those produced by Volkswagen, Mercedes, and BMW.
