Why we chose it: Namcos Star Fox Assault just isnt up to snuff. Its the first true Star Fox shooter since Star Fox 64, which goes down as one of the best in the series, while Namcos installment goes down as perhaps the worst. A few of the flight missions in Assault are pretty good. Admittedly, we liked the first mission, but others dont follow suit. Likewise, the on-foot missions are generic and just dont work all that well. The split-screen mode also disappoints and with no online, it feels aged before its even a year-old. Dont get us wrong: we didnt hate Star Fox Assault. But its still the most disappointing game of the year.
