Silicon Knights Partners With SEGA

Silicon Knights Partners With SEGA

Laptop Battery Publisher SEGA of America today announced that it has entered in a strategic partnership with former Nintendo second party developer Silicon Knights. Under the terms of the new agreement, SEGA and Silicon Knights will be collaberating on new franchises for undisclosed next-generation console systems.

Simon Jeffery, President and COO, SEGA of America, was quite ecstatic with the new arrangement. "We intend to establish SEGA as a leading publisher on the next generation of game hardware and only the highest possible quality of Western-developed content will get us there. Silicon Knights has a rich history of developing great games that push hardware technology, so we expect this relationship will result in a powerful, new, and highly commercial franchise."

Outspoken President Denis Dyack of Silicon Knights was equally enthusiastic about his company's new partners. "Silicon Knights believes that the next generation systems will be the catalyst propelling video games as the dominant form of entertainment in this century. We are very excited to collaborate with SEGA on a next generation project because we share a vision -- to take the medium of games to new heights and move people as never before."

SEGA will be managing all aspects of marketing and distribution for whatever projects the two companies work on.

Earlier, IGN reached Denis Dyack by phone and got more detailed information not revealed in the press release. About his decision to partner with Sega, Dyack stated that, "Some big changes have taken place at Sega, and we're really thinking that they get it. We're on the same page."

Dyack made some more cryptic statements regarding their new partnership. "We're looking at it as a long term opportunity to work with SEGA. It definitely has potential to go beyond one game and we're very excited to be working with these guys."

Denis also confirmed to IGN that this new arrangement does not stop Silicon Knights from forming other collaberations with different publishers. IGN used this fact to remind people of the rumors that the company is possibly in collaberation with another big company. Dyack also stated that the new title being made with SEGA will appeal to older gamers as their past games have done so.

The Advanced Media Network will be following this story very closely and we will continue to update you as more details come to light.

According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.
