CDC Awards BearingPoint $9.8 Million Contract To Support National Center for Public Health Informatics
McLean, VA, December 6, 2005 BearingPoint, Inc. (NYSE:BE), a leading global management and technology consulting firm, today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, BearingPoint, LLC, has been awarded a contract to support program management efforts for the National Center for Public Health Informatics (NCPHI), an organization within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that provides national leadership in the application of information technology for public health. The contract is valued at $2.8 million for the initial nine-month base period, with two annual options, and has a potential total value of $9.8 million if all options are exercised.
Under the new agreement, BearingPoint will provide services to support the continued development and operation of the existing NCPHI program management office, the CDCs Enterprise Architecture and the CDC Unified Process (a formalized, integrated approach used for project management and delivery within the CDC). In addition, BearingPoint will provide program management for critical CDC health services programs including:
Geographical Information Systems
Distance Learning Architecture
Countermeasure/Response Administration
Communication and Alerting
International Informatics
BearingPoints breadth of public health experience includes working in a variety of capacities at the CDC including a multi million-dollar contract announced in August 2005 to support the Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response. The Company also consults for peer organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, Military Health System, and Veterans Affairs, as well as provides services to CDC partners including research universities and health providers.
