aQuantive, Inc. Announces Two New Board Directors
Former Young & Rubicam President Linda J. Srere and Former Overture Chief Operating Officer Jaynie M. Studenmund Approved at aQuantive's Annual Meeting of Shareholders
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 2004--
aQuantive, Inc. (Nasdaq:AQNT), a digital marketing services and technology company, today announced that Linda J. Srere and Jaynie M. Studenmund have joined the company's board of directors.
"I am very pleased that Linda and Jaynie have accepted positions on aQuantive's board of directors," said Brian McAndrews, president and CEO of aQuantive, Inc. "Both are talented individuals who bring significant experience and capabilities -- whether it be Linda's impressive advertising career, including several top executive positions, or Jaynie's Internet and operating expertise -- which will help drive aQuantive to yet another level."
Srere, currently a marketing and advertising consultant, brings extensive experience to aQuantive. Most recently, she served as president of Young & Rubicam (Y&R) Advertising, one of the world's preeminent advertising networks. Prior to serving as president, Srere was vice chairman and chief client officer of Y&R. She also was president and CEO of Y&R's New York office, becoming the first female chief executive officer in the company's 75-year history and playing a significant role in the agency's $7 billion annual billings. Before joining Y&R, Srere was chairman of Earle Palmer Brown New York and president of Rosenfeld, Sirowitz, Humphrey & Strauss, both advertising agencies. She currently serves as a director of Electronic Arts, Inc.
Studenmund brings 25 years of executive management experience and a successful track record across a diverse set of businesses to aQuantive. Most recently she served as chief operating officer of Overture Services, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yahoo Inc., helping the search-based products and tools provider grow quarterly revenues from $50 million to $300 million, and expand into 12 international markets. Studenmund was with Overture from 2001 until January of this year. Previously, she was president and COO of PayMyBills.com, an Internet bill management company. Prior to her focus in the Internet sector, Studenmund was executive vice president and head of retail banking of several major banking institutions, including Home Savings of America, Great Western Bank and First Interstate Bank of California. She currently serves as a director of Treasury Bank, a division of Countrywide Financial Corporation.
"The ability to attract new directors with this level of talent to aQuantive's board is tremendously exciting," said Nick Hanauer, aQuantive, Inc.'s chairman of the board. "I'm confident that both Linda and Jaynie will be strong additions, playing key roles in the company's continued development as the leader in digital marketing."
Shareholders elected Srere and Studenmund, and also re-elected aQuantive Director Peter M. Neupert, for three-year board of director terms at aQuantive's 2004 Annual Meeting of Shareholders held last week in Seattle.
