Desktop Computer Dubai's Dow Jones Index is expected supply stability to the market, having been weighed against other Middle Eastern Dow Jones indices. But it may be that its underlying goal, as far as DFM officials consider, is to attract foreign cash without directly opening its stock market to foreign investors.

Travelstar The new index will include leading Dubai stocks ranked by free-float market capitalisation, sales revenue and net income. It will be reviewed quarterly and its components, including weights and values, will be unveiled prior to implementation.
Gateway The new DFM index will also eventually become part of Dow Jones' Asian index and will provide international investors exposure to the DFM.
Laptop Parts The DFM index, which includes all of the market's 35 listed stocks, jumped 172 per cent in 2004, by 132 per cent in 2005 but is down 54 per cent this year. The Dubai market clocked a turnover of $110 billion in 2005, as much as the Singapore stock exchange but twice that in Kuala Lumpur. Its average daily trades of $444 million in the first five months of 2006 has already exceeded last year's average daily trade of $380 million, Gulf News reports.
