Redline AN-100 Broadband Wireless Product Wins SUPERQuest Award
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2004--Redline Communications Inc., a leading provider of standards based Broadband Wireless equipment, today announced that its AN-100 Eight Port TDM (Time Division Multiplex) broadband wireless solution is the recipient of the Telecommunication Industry Association's (TIA) SUPERQuest award in the Backbone/Edge Networking Equipment category. The AN-100, which is the world's first 802.16-compliant product, will be showcased at the Redline Communications Booth (#22737) at SUPERCOMM 2004, which takes place June 20 to 24 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
"This award is a significant endorsement for Redline," said Keith Doucet, VP of Marketing at Redline Communications. "As the world's first IEEE 802.16 compliant product, the AN-100 was designed at the outset to support interoperability and eventually become WiMAX Forum Certified(TM). This award recognizes our achievement in innovation."
Designed for carriers and service providers, to address the 3.5 GHz licensed band initially, the 8 port AN-100 TDM provides a high performance carrier class solution for backhaul and high capacity access applications for both point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PMP) deployments. It is based on an advanced form of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), which, when combined with Redline's other novel technologies, delivers unprecedented performance for robust operations in partial and complete non-line-of-sight deployment conditions. The AN-100 supports ranges beyond 80 km (50 mi) and features extremely low latency to support high-speed data and real-time applications - including voice and video - with outstanding spectral efficiency (5 bits/second/Hertz).
This award represents the second time that a Redline product has received top honours from TIA, the organization that produces and manages SUPERCOMM. In 2002, Redline received the SUPERQuest award for its AN-50 wireless broadband system in the 'Most Promising Network Transport Technology' category.
