International iQue Release Confirmed
Laptop Battery iQue Limited's Dr. Wai Yen (who was formerly the Vice President of Silicon Graphics and ArtX), has confirmed that the Nintendo iQue will be released outside of China this year. No specific regions or nations were mentioned, however.
In addition, Dr. Yen has stated that the iQue Depot distribution system was not made to combat piracy or secure the device, but to save on distribution cost and make the iQue more affordable to the average Chinese citizen. (The average household and personal income in China is far lower than the average household and personal income in the United States.)
Yen also said that he wants to introduce the idea of "a clean videogames industry" to the Chinese public. Yen also said that one of the main releases the Nintendo 64 is the iQues base platform is because it has a great software catalogue, and that the games are "healthy and suitable" for Chinese kids. Dr. Yen also said that if the distribution system got out of control or was cracked that it would not hurt [Nintendo and iQue Limited] a lot.
According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.
