San Francisco Center to Help Customers Maximize ATG Deployments on IBM WebSphere
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 2004--ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc., NASDAQ: ARTG), the software provider behind the Web's richest customer experiences, today announced that it has opened an Educational Center for IBM Software in San Francisco. Providing end-user and technical training for IBM's WebSphere(1) software portfolio, the San Francisco center is the second to be opened by ATG. The company opened an education center at its headquarters in Cambridge, MA in November 2003.
As an authorized Education Center for IBM Software, ATG leverages courseware developed by IBM to help customers more effectively capitalize on the functionality of the IBM WebSphere platform. By providing these educational opportunities at the foundation layer, ATG customers in vertical industries such as retail, travel and financial services are able to further leverage the ATG Customer Experience Platform to drive online marketing, sales and service initiatives.
"In order to realize the business benefits of our online channel, our organization must be capable of maximizing the capabilities of our IT infrastructure," said Gary Bent, system architect at ATG customer Cushman and Wakefield. "The ATG Education Center for IBM Software offers the level of insightful instruction and material that provides our IT professionals with a foundation of knowledge for working with WebSphere."
Through the San Francisco Education Center, ATG Education will be offering training for WebSphere System Administrators, WebSphere Developers and WebSphere Portal Developers. Among the courses offered is "Administration of WebSphere Application Server V5," which teaches end-users the finer points of installing, configuring and maintaining IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V5.
"The ways in which organizations interact with customers online is rapidly changing and ATG is dedicated to providing our customers and partners with access to the knowledge and skills necessary to optimize their online initiatives," said Pat Durant, senior manager of education at ATG. "For ATG customers in the San Francisco area who have either deployed or migrated to IBM WebSphere, this new Education Center will become a valuable resource to their IT departments."
