Square-Enix Profits Fall

Laptop Battery Square-Enix the legendary publisher and developer of Role Playing Games has officially publicized their financial statements for the nine month long period ending on December 31st, 2005. The Tokyo based company saw an overall increase in terms of net sales, as sales increased a total of 13.2 percent totaling in at 68.9 billion yen or approximately $585 million.

Despite the improvements in regards to overall sales numbers, the company's operating income, earnings excluding taxes, interest, and depreciation fell 75.5 percent accumulating to approximately $53.8 million. As such, the company's net level of profit fell 67.7 percent resulting in an overall profit of around $36.5 million.

The company has however remained optimistic in regards to future fiscal quarters. Square-Enix has attributed their decreased level of income towards the incredible success the company saw during the previous year where they shipped three million copies of Dragon Quest 8 in the first three days of its release in Japan.

The previous period for the company brought with it success in regards to the release of Kingdom Hearts 2, Romancing Saga 2, and the debut of Dragon Quest 8 in North America. Combined, the company shipped two million units of the previous three titles, 1.1 million for KH2, and 500 thousand and 430 thousand for Romancing Saga and DQ8 respectively.

Square-Enix held constant their forecast in regards to the full fiscal quarter, ending on March 31st, 2006. The company expects to generate net sales of $1.16 billion, with a net profit of $149 million. We'll keep you updated on any further financial statements from video game publishers.

laptop computers is driving strong sales for notebook computers, according to the latest quarterly sales figures from the research firm IDC, which reported a 37% computer sales for the second quarter, compared with a year earlier.
