Netegrity Extends Universal Federation Architecture Through Partnerships with Ping Identity and Trustgenix
Interoperability with SiteMinder Provides Customers with Multiple Options for Implementing Identity Federation
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 21, 2004-- Netegrity, Inc. (Nasdaq: NETE), a leading provider of identity and access management solutions, today announced that it has extended its federation offerings through partnerships with Ping Identity and Trustgenix. The interoperability between Netegrity(R) SiteMinder(R) technology and Ping Identity's SourceID(TM) and Trustgenix IdentityBridge(TM) provides customers with another option for enabling federated identity with their business partners.
Today, Netegrity has more than 60 federation customers and as these customers federate with their business partners they are realizing that each partner has different deployment needs and skills. To meet the needs of its customers, Netegrity is offering several options for providing federated identity end points for partners:
-- SiteMinder provides a full federation solution that both produces and consumes identities and supports a range of standards including SAML and Liberty ID-FF. In this scenario, a company with SiteMinder on one end can federate with a partner using a standards compliant security system, including SiteMinder, on the other end.
-- Netegrity also offers the SiteMinder SAML Affiliate Agent. This software enables a SiteMinder customer to provide their partner with a lightweight solution for consuming SAML identities.
-- With SiteMinder interoperability with Ping Identity's SourceID and Trustgenix IdentityBridge, a company with SiteMinder can now federate with a partner that implements either the Ping Identity or Trustgenix solutions. Ping Identity's SourceID and Trustgenix IdentityBridge provide solutions that support both Liberty ID-FF and SAML protocols, and produce and consume identities.
"As companies continue to put federation deployments into production, the need for a proven, lightweight, standards-based solution for federating identities between Netegrity SiteMinder customers and their partners has become clear," said Andre Durand, CEO of Ping Identity Corporation. "The proven integration between Ping Identity SourceID and Netegrity SiteMinder significantly lowers the cost of federation deployments while delivering increased security and improved access to cross-domain resources."
"Trustgenix IdentityBridge, a widely interoperable multi-protocol federation server, is an excellent complement to the industry leading SiteMinder product from Netegrity," said Greg Whitehead, CTO of Trustgenix, Inc. "The flexible architecture of IdentityBridge makes it easy for the partners of SiteMinder customers to federate with SiteMinder out-of-the-box without disruption to existing identity infrastructure."
The Netegrity(R) Universal Federation Architecture(TM) enables companies to securely share identity information across applications within the enterprise as well as to external partner companies. Netegrity provides customers with a broad choice of standards to use in their federation implementations, including Liberty, SAML, and WS-Security. In addition, Netegrity is the only vendor that enables comprehensive deployments that span both browser-based and Web services-based federation. Using Netegrity's identity and access management products, customers are able to incorporate their federated identity initiatives as part of an enterprise-wide identity management infrastructure.
"Netegrity's customers have realized the benefit of establishing federated environments with their partners," said Vadim Lander, CTO at Netegrity. "To meet their evolving requirements, we are working with key federation partners, including Ping Identity and Trustgenix, to provide our customers with multiple federation deployment options."
Netegrity and Trustgenix will be demonstrating interoperability in the Netegrity hospitality suite on the evening of July 21st at the Burton Group Catalyst Conference being held in San Diego, CA.
