Educational and Community Groups are Selecting mycomPRO mailMAX II for Email Protection

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 2004--Mycom Group, Inc. (OTCBB:MYCO), a technology products, managed services, and software development company, announced that its' email filtering service, mycomPRO(TM) mailMAX II is being selected to filter unwanted spam and virus by more than businesses and corporations. During the past few months Mycom has added several universities, schools and organizations to its growing list of clients.
Among the list of educational and community organizations that have chosen mycomPRO(TM) mailMAX II from a large group of email filtering products are The Archdiocese of Denver, Cincinnati Museum Center and the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce. Schools such as Oakland Community College, the largest community college in Michigan with enrollment of 74,000, and the Indian Hill School District in Ohio have also contracted the mailMAX email filtering service.

These organizations are starting to catch up with businesses in recognizing the need for eliminating spam and the viruses they can deliver. During July, 80% of all emails scanned by Mycom's technology has been junk mail messages and over 3% contained viruses. The volume of unwanted spam is growing daily and it is costing companies and organizations an estimated $10 billion in lost productivity annually.

Michael P. McKee, Director of Information Systems for the Archdiocese of Denver stated, "Your Spam Filtering System has enabled the personnel at the Archdiocese of Denver to dedicate more quality time to pursue their work responsibilities, because of the significant reduction in time required to delete inappropriate materials. Perhaps even more importantly, your product continues to safeguard the integrity of the Archdiocesan e-mail service. Not to be overlooked is the substantial savings that the Archdiocese has enjoyed by forgoing the need to purchase a new file server."

Organizations and businesses are choosing mailMAX II because it scans both inbound and outbound email checking for viruses, harassing or inappropriate (pornographic) content, pictures, and attachments while blocking up to 98% of unwanted spam.

The new, more powerful, spam and virus filtering service, built by Mycom, operates on a highly secure Linux cluster. New and enhanced features include 60% faster processing time, the ability to create users and groups for each domain, greater granularity in spam filtering, an improved user interface, a summary notification option, an enhanced queue monitor and a bypass list for every setting.

It controls attachments, and oversized message delivery and provides unauthorized encryption detection. Address list and bypass list management is available and policy can be controlled by an administrator.

The technology employs a tiered approach to help combat the ever-changing and rapidly growing problem of spam. The approach consists of four tiers, working in concert and providing granular tailoring of the system to a client's specific needs.

Mycom markets the technology throughout North America as mycomPRO(TM) mailMAX II. View mailMAX II at www.mycompro.com
