Integration and Windows and HP-UX Support to Sun Java Enterprise
System
SANTA CLARA, Calif., -- April 21, 2005 -- Sun Microsystems, Inc.,
(NASDAQ: SUNW) today announced general availability of the Sun Java
Enterprise System Release 3, (Java ES) Sun's flagship enterprise
infrastructure software that has transformed the way software is
purchased, deployed and managed. Java ES 3 is enriched with new
functionality, including Sun Java System Identity Manager, a
software product that protects sensitive data, increases efficiency
and reduces the costs of identity management.

In addition the portal will use the Java System Directory Server Enterprise Edition to store up to 10 million customer records, and purchases in excess of 1, 000 supplier service definitions. The directory server will also be used to control the appearance of the portal to customers and process purchases of games, music and news via the portal.
