3 Italy Signs Agreement With FAST For Mobile Search
Fast Search & Transfer ASA (FAST) today announced that 3 Italy has signed an agreement to deploy FAST ESP to power the search across all the mobile multimedia content on its `3` Mobile Portal.
3 Italy is the mobile video company of the Hutchison Whampoa Group in the Italian market, and has over 2.7 million subscribers in Italy alone. 3 Italy delivers third- generation mobile multimedia and communications services, offering a convergence of media, information and telephony to enable live video calls, multimedia content and entertainment while on the move. 3 Italy has been the first in the Italian market to launch a 3G Mobile Portal from which its users can access all the available mobile multimedia content. Services under the brand name 3 are available from sister companies in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Israel, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. 3 also holds UMTS licences in Ireland and Norway.
The FAST agreement with 3 Italy is based on software license, maintenance and professional service fees.
