Laptop Battery Utah Gov. Mike Leavitt's bid to head the Environmental Protection Agency had been expected to get a Senate committee's vote of approval today, but Democrats are making a last-ditch effort to delay the vote for two weeks.
According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.
Thinkpad The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee is scheduled to vote on reporting Leavitt's nomination to the Senate floor during its business meeting this morning. However, the nine minority members of the panel sent a letter Tuesday to committee Chairman Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., urging him to postpone the vote for at least two weeks. The letter said the eight Democrats and one independent had not received adequate responses from Leavitt to questions submitted to him about EPA matters and also were waiting for information directly from the agency.

Microsoft "Our review of these responses reveals that they are incomplete in numerous respects," the letter said of Leavitt's replies.

Desktop Computer But while Leavitt appears to have a solid base of support within the Senate, his nomination continues to be used by Senate Democrats as a battering ram against President Bush's environmental policies and is threatened with being lost in a last-month rush to adjourn.
Notebooks Five Democratic senators have placed holds on Leavitt's nomination that will prevent any confirmation vote from being placed on the Senate schedule. All say that until their specific requests for information or commitments from the White House are fulfilled to their satisfaction, they won't lift their holds.

It's in everyone's best interest to give Governor Leavitt an up or down vote."
