BRAINTREE, Mass., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- HSH Tech Solutions has released its debut product aimed at ensuring anti-virus software remains up-to-date.
Virus Fail-Safe is a managed subscription service to complement virus protection software. Designed for the small and medium business computer consultant, agents monitor desktops and servers and securely report their status to a central server.
Weekly, registered users receive an email detailing the product levels of all managed computers, alerting to out-of-date machines.
Highlighting out-of-date computers, Virus Fail-Safe alerts consultants to expired product subscriptions, source servers not updating child nodes, as well as other outside factors contributing to leaving clients vulnerable.
Consultants can use this information to ensure their clients are kept safe and up-to-date without the need to physically go from site to site or connect to multiple networks.
Current supported anti-virus vendor agents include McAfee, Symantec, Trend Micro, Computer Associates, and Panda. HSH Tech Solutions has plans to double the supported product base within the next six months.
In addition to anti-virus product levels, for a nominal fee, asset information can be collected from the managed nodes. After the initial setup fee, Virus Fail-Safe tiered pricing starts at $2.00 per node per month, with no contract or long-term commitment. Tiered rates based on managed nodes decrease the overall cost for consultants, increasing their profit.
Managed nodes running Virus Fail-Safe require a minimum of Windows 2000 Professional, Service Pack 4, Internet access, and WMI running. A valid e-mail address is required to receive reports.
