E3: Nintendo Isn't Sony, Microsoft
Laptop Battery In what many are calling an "owning of Microsoft," Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime at the press conference today said that Nintendo is "not that company," in reference to Microsoft, who he said was a company that didnt care as long as you used their operating system.
Fils-Aime also said Nintendo is "not that company," in reference to Sony, who doesn't care as long as you use their memory devices and hardware. Rather, Nintendo wants to bring gamers great games. Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokmon, and more. Nintendo wants to appeal to all gamers, said Fils-Aime, and not just the hardcore gamers.
Later, George Harrison spoke about Nintendo's growth, saying that their console sales in 2003 went wearly 40% up(as compared to 2002), while Sony's has dropped 28% and Microsoft has seen no sales change. It was also noted that Sony has a long way to go to catch the Game Boy Advance with the PSP (about 25 million sales,) and that the PS2 can't even catch the GBA.
UPDATE: We've fixed the mistake where we accidentally put Harrison's name where it should have been Fils-Aime. Also, we have a video clip from the press conference of Fils-Aime speaking about the competition.
