Entire Vongo (SM) Movie Library Available for Digital Download by Akamai

(NASDAQ: AKAM), the leading global service provider for accelerating content and business processes online, today announced that Starz Entertainment Group (SEG) is relying on the Akamai Media Delivery service as the underlying video delivery platform for their innovative movie download subscription service, Vongo, unveiled last week . Making broadband entertainment content accessible from a series of devices both connected and portable is a critical component of the evolution taking place in the media and entertainment space. The Akamai Media Delivery solution is at the core of this evolution with its proven ability to quickly and reliably scale to support consumer demand for popular broadband digital media services like Vongo.
Vongo was developed to deliver movies and other video content to broadband or wireless-enabled devices that support Microsoft's Windows Media Player 10 and Portable Media Center (PMC). Movies can be played on PCs, laptops, select portable media devices and televisions. Vongo subscribers have access to more than 1,000 movies and video selections, as well as a live stream of the Starz TV channel, for a monthly cost of $9.99 and pay-per-view titles for $3.99 per movie.

According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.
