Best Ever Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 c Sugar
• 1/2 ts Salt
• 1 c Shortening or 2 sticks oleo
• 1 c Buttermilk
• 2
• Eggs
• 1 c Boiling water
• 2 1/2 c Flour (packed)
• 2
• Scant tsp. soda
• 1/2 c Cocoa

Directions

1. Cream sugar and shortening and add eggs, one at a time.
2. Sift flour three times with cocoa and salt.
3. Add alternatley with buttermilk.
4. Add soda and water and add to above ingredients.
5. Grease and flour 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan.
6. Bake at 300 degrees for 90 minutes.
7. Test for doneness.
8. Cool and ice with your favorite icing.
9. (Subliminal message: Your favorite icing is CHOCOLATE...)
