Microsoft June 4, 2005 (AXcess News) Boston - According to Infonetics Research's quarterly worldwide market share and forecast, revenue for service provider routers and switches totaled $1.63 billion in 1Q05. That was only 1% above the fourth quarter last year, but 16% year-over-year.
- Your computers are in an internal network behind a NAT based router. Only the router has a public IP address. You can access your internal network computers via the Internet. To do this you need to configure 'Forwarding' firewall. Configure the router to forward connections from a port on the router to a specific IP address and port (Radmin server's default port is 4899) of the target computer in your internal network. You need to assign a port on the router for every computer you need to access. The router will then forward the connection to your computer in the internal network.
- Your PCs have real IP addresses but the firewall has its port 4899 closed. In this case you have to open 4899 or use another open port.
- Radmin Server does not start on the server. Examine the log file on the server for the reason.

Laptop Computer "In a quarter sometimes marked by seasonal declines after a usually strong fourth quarter, the market, as a whole, was surprisingly resilient, in large part due to the strength of IP router sales," said Infonetics Research analyst Kevin Mitchell. "Growth in the service provider router and switch market continues to be fueled by IP routers, with routers accounting for 70% of revenue and switches 30% in the first quarter."Infonetics highlighted three of the leading companies market share in the first quarter of 2005 from their report, citing Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) as the leader with 58% market share. Cisco's IP router revenue grew 8% quarter-over-quarter and 9% year-over-year. Juniper Networks (Nasdaq: JNPR) is in second place with 27% of the market share. Juniper's router revenue is up 1% sequentially and 57% from the same period last year in IP router revenue share. NEC held on to third place worldwide, followed by Redback and Huawei.Infonetics report tracks IP core and edge routers, and multiservice core and edge switches.
