LSI Logic Demonstrates Industry's First Raid 6 SAS Demo at Storage Networking World
LSI Logic and HP Join to Demonstrate RAID 6 Functionality at SNW
Storage Networking World, PHOENIX, April 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continuing its commitment to a first-to-market Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) strategy, LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) will demonstrate the industry's first RAID 6 SAS implementation at Storage Networking World April 12 through 15, booth P22.
The LSI Logic 4-port LSISAS1064 controller will run on an HP SAS system to showcase RAID 6 with Advanced Data Guarding (ADG) technology, which enables IT users to recover data in the event of two drive failures. RAID 6 is highly critical to SAS environments where systems often implement lower MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) SATA spindles in combination with enterprise SAS hard disk drives.
