Masergy Launches "Intelligent Transport" Service Providing
Ethernet On A Serial Connection for Cost-Effective Global
Coverage
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 21, 2004--Masergy Communications,
Inc. today announced a new delivery service that offers Ethernet on
a serial connection to deliver Ethernet anywhere enterprise
customers
do business. This unique IP
transport service gives enterprise customers a simple, flexible,
cost-effective way to get a global Ethernet solution with
end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS). MASERGY's Intelligent
Transport service also lets customers put their public and private
network services on a single circuit while allowing for
prioritization of applications based on business
requirements.
MASERGY's Intelligent Transport service uses an "Intelligent
Bridge" to provide an Ethernet "hand-off" over a serial connection;
The Intelligent Bridge allows MASERGY to deliver multiple transport
services (RFC 2547 VPN, VPLS, Public Internet, etc.) over Virtual
Connections (VLANs or DLCIs). Customers can choose a single service
or multiple services over a single interface.
Laptop Battery The Intelligent Transport service -- being unveiled at SUPERCOMM
in Isocore's IP Optical Pavilion (Booth #11142) -- gives customers
access to MASERGY's IP MPLS network, allowing businesses to mark
traffic for differentiated treatment in the MASERGY network and on
the access links. Customers configure their terminating equipment
to provide prioritization of traffic on the access links inbound to
the network, while MASERGY enforces prioritization of traffic on
the access links outbound from the network.

Thinkpad "MASERGY's Intelligent Transport service is a
natural progression for MPLS-based
solutions," said Barry D. Nalls, president and CEO of MASERGY. "Now
enterprises are not restricted in getting Ethernet to all of their
global business locations."
1. An Ethernet connection running at 100Mbps. So called because it is 10 times faster than the old 10Mbps standard. However, fast Ethernet is no longer the fastest form of Ethernet...... 2. A company providing disk space on a server to host a web page, fast connections between the server and the internet (for fast page download times), and possibly also web design and maintenance service.....
Microsoft MASERGY's Intelligent Transport comes with the ability to
separate traffic end-to-end into 5 Quality of Service (QoS) levels:
Normal Data, Priority Data, Critical Data, Video and Voice. The QoS
level is selected for the overall port, not on each Virtual
Connection. Also, the product supports multiple high-speed access
types as available in specific countries. All access types have
full-rate or burstable options.
The Quatech rugged serial ( 232) PCMCIA card gives your serial devices the power of mobility, allowing you to connect any serial device to your laptop's PCMCIA slot (aka PC Card Bus). 100D, Quatech Serial Device Server $199.95 Reach farther with this high performance Ethernet to serial external device server from Quatech. 232 DB9 serial port.
Laptop Computers Using a secure, Web-based portal, customers can modify their
Intelligent Transport service bandwidth billing options. Customers
can change from burstable to flat-rate service or modify tiers with
tiered service options. This level of customer control is a
cornerstone of MASERGY's industry-leading network services.
-> Device Servers Overview Specifications Customer Reviews (0) : 410D Description Quatech's 410D Series is designed to provide the best value available in Ethernet serial device servers. This serial device server comes with 2 serial device ports and an extensive feature set that sets it apart from other serial device servers in its respective price range.
Laptop Computer Another key feature of MASERGY's Intelligent Transport service
is the ability of customers to put their private and public
networks on the same circuit and maintain QoS capabilities. Until
now, customers had to choose one or the other.

Desktop Computer "Enterprise customers who have experience with MPLS networks are
telling us they want to manage their public and private networks on
a single circuit, and Intelligent Transport meets that
requirement," added Nalls.
Notebooks The Intelligent Transport product is supported by Service Level
