Opera Releases Beta Version of AJAX Developers Kit

ASP.NET AJAX includes release and debug versions of the scripts, but for ScriptReferences that refer to files on disk, the ScriptManager does not assume that you have provided debug versions of the script, so the path given is used regardless of the server's debug setting. The Auto setting for ScriptMode is almost identical to the Inherits value, except for this behavior. Inherits will take the value directly from the server configuration. The ScriptManager doesn't look to configuration or page settings when the ScriptMode is set directly to Release or Debug.

Thinkpad (AXcess News) Reno - Opera Software ASA (OSE: OPERA) has released a beta version of its Opera Platform SDK, a software development kit for developing and running Web applications on mobile phones. The Opera Platform SDK gives developers a way to create broader mobile web applications, such as an email client, a game, or a stock ticker.

Apache is run on over 6 million Internet servers (as of February 2000). It has been tested thoroughly by both developers and users. The Apache Group maintains rigorous standards before releasing new versions of their server, and our server runs without a hitch on over one half of all WWW servers available on the Internet. When bugs do show up, we release patches and new versions as soon as they are available.

Microsoft Opera Platform allows developers to create platform independent applications based on well known Web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The combination of these technologies is popularly referred to as AJAX.

This is still an issue with the release version of RAdmin Viewer 3.0. It will not transfer a license code to a 2.2 server, though it acts like it does. I recommend, at least until Famatech addresses this issue, that you keep a backup copy of the original Radmin 3.0 beta viewer, along with the phone book to go with it. (As I'm sure you know, the beta 2 and release versions of the phonebook are incompatible with the initial 3.0 viewer release.)

Laptop Computers "The full Web browser has proved itself as a central application on mobile phones and is today the main source for data traffic on mobile networks," says says Timo Bruns, Vice President for Business Development, Opera Software. "With Opera Platform we are now building the foundation for the next generation of mobile services by enabling the easy, fast and cost-effective creation of compelling Web based mobile applications."

Radmin Viewer 3.0 beta version is released for public testing. You can download from our website and start testing.

Laptop Computer Opera's introduction of an AJAX developers kit is a clever way of shifting mobile phone web applications to third-parties and will most likely propel the use its browser by more mobile phone manufacturers.

Desktop Computer Also, Palm said it became a founding member of the the Linux Phone Standards (LiPS) Forum. Various mobile technology companies have established the forum to accelerate the adoption of Linux in fixed, mobile and converged devices by standardising Linux-based services and promoting interoperability of applications. Opera Software ASA was not listed among those founding companies, though its move to offer an AJAX web applications developers kit could see more cross-platform mobile application developments.

Notebooks The primary goal of the LiPS forum is to establish standards for the growing number of companies providing Linux-based products to prevent fragmentation among different vendors.

Lenovo There is growing operator and manufacturer interest in Linux as an alternative to proprietary OS technologies for telephony terminals.

Hard Drive Several organisations are already working to optimise the Linux kernel for use in mobile phones through the definition of standards for the improvement of boot time, power management and other performance-related factors.

Travelstar The LiPS Forum says the lack of standardisation has meant that there are significant hurdles to developing and deploying applications and services on Linux-based terminals and this has slowed the mass-market adoption of Linux telephony. LiPS has been created to address this gap and will work to standardise the upper layers of the Linux stack that enable the deployment, development and interoperability of applications and end user services.

Gateway For Opera, web developers who use their new AJAX kit, it will be up to them to make their applications compliant to LiPS. Though the Forum membersare working to maketo that information readily available. Currently, there are no resources listed on LiPS Forum site.

The founding members of LiPS are: ARM, Cellon, Esmertec, France Telecom, FSM Labs, Huawei, Jaluna, MIZI Research, MontaVista Software, Open-Plug and PalmSource.
