Wheaton Franciscan and GE Medical Sign 5-Year $100 Million Contract
Laptop Battery By WTN News • 01/21/04 WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Wheaton Franciscan System and GE Medical Systems recently signed a five-year $100 million alliance that extends their collaboration in the medical field. The Wheaton Franciscan System, a Catholic heath care and housing service provider, will receive access to GE Medical Systems Performance Solutions; a portfolio of consulting, education and development services designed for health care customers in addition to the purchase of imaging and monitoring equipment.
We hope our support of Wheaton Franciscan will increase diagnostic confidence and accuracy, efficiency and speed, and ultimately reduce costs and improve patient care for the facilities, said Joseph Hogan, president and chief executive officer of GE Medical Systems.
The agreement comes on the heels of another agreement between the two organizations. Last summer, the Wheaton, Ill.-based Wheaton Franciscan System signed a five-year, $15 million contract to install GEs Centricity picture archiving and communication system, which is an imaging and information system that provides clinicians with on-demand access to patient images on computer workstations within the hospital, at their offices or at their homes via a secure Web connection.
The alliance also is important in that it brings together two Midwest companies to support communities. The contract invests in a regional company and supports the workforce and the companies that provide supplies, equipment and services to GE Medical Systems, said John Oliverio, the Wheaton Franciscan Systems president and chief executive officer.
A day after Elton Brand signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, Davis’s former team announced that they have signed Maggette to a 5 year, $50 million contract.
