Gerald Butters, Bob Martin and Ivan Berkowitz to Help Position Amedia as Leaders in FTTP Market

BROOKLYN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10, 2004--Amedia Networks (OTC BB: AANI, Berlin Stock Exchange: TEJ), a pioneer in the design and development of Ethernet broadband solutions for the communications industry, today announced the addition of three industry luminaries, Gerald Butters, Bob Martin and Ivan Berkowitz, to its Board of Directors. The new directors were elected at the Company's recently held 2004 annual stockholders meeting.
Gerald Butters is a communications industry veteran with 40 years experience. His career encompasses senior executive positions at Nortel Networks (NYSE: NT), AT&T (NYSE: T) and Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) including Chairman of the Board of AGCS (a joint venture of GTE and AT&T), and President of NTI (a Nortel Networks US subsidiary). While at AT&T and Lucent, Mr. Butters held several senior executive positions including President, Global Public Networks: President, North American Marketing, Sales and Service: Group President Optical Networking, and Senior Vice President Marketing and Technology. Since retiring in 2000 Mr. Butters has been active in the technology sector serving as a board member and advisor to a number of companies. Mr. Butters is also a Fellow of the International Engineering Consortium (IEC).

Bob Martin, Ph.D. retired as the Chief Technology Officer of Lucent Technologies' Bell Labs in September 2003, a position that he held for seven years. In this role, he helped guide Lucent's direction in next generation networks and in approaches the company used for research and development. His background at Bell Labs and Bellcore included a variety of positions related to large systems development. He has been responsible for UNIX, network management systems, intelligent network systems, packet switching, and broadband access systems developments. Dr. Martin received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Brown University, and his Master of Science and Doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Dr. Martin was a member and first chair of its Software Industrial Advisory Board. He has served on the National Research Council's Computer Science and Telecommunications Board and the FCC's Technological Advisory Board. He is on technical advisory boards for venture capitalists and startups in telecommunications, optical devices and product innovation.

Ivan Berkowitz, Ph.D. has over 30 years of professional experience in the financial and real estate industries. Dr. Berkowitz has acted as an international corporate advisor on matters that pertain to corporate structure and governance, transfer pricing, EEC anti-trust law, mergers and international syndication. He holds a Ph.D. in International Law from Cambridge University, an M.B.A. in Finance from Baruch College and a B.A. in Economics from Brooklyn College. Since 1993, Dr. Berkowitz has served as Managing General Partner of Steib & Company, a privately-held New York based investment company. Additionally, from 1997 through 2002, Dr. Berkowitz served as President of Great Court Holdings, also a privately-held New York-based investment company. Between 1995 and 1997, Dr. Berkowitz led Polyvision Corporation (recently acquired by Steelcase) as its chief executive officer.
