According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

EDGE Tech Introduces the Secure Digital (SD) Card + free transfer of data between card and computer or your favorite consumer electronics device

Laptop Computers THIS CD IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR SUB-DIRECTORIES:

  1. Whether you want to secure your laptop, digital camera, computer case, or any device with a security slot, 1 Cable Locking System provides the protection you need.

Laptop Computer CPLD_examples - CPLD data files of the type *.gdf, *.vhd and *.scf files that were created for the solution to the examples in the textbook.

  2. They went to places like Senegal, Uganda, India, and Thailand, using only laptop computers and a digital video camera.

Desktop Computer Maxplus2_se- Altera's MAX+PLUS II student edition graphic and VHDL design software for CPLDs.

  3. Notebooks Multisim_problems - MultiSIM data files required to solve the chapter-end EWB/MultiSIM problems.

  4. Lenovo Multisim_txbk_ed- MultiSIM Textbook Edition software for electronic circuit design and simulation.

Hard Drive INSTALLING AND ACTIVATING THE MAX+PLUS II SOFTWARE:

Install the MAX+PLUS II software by double-clicking on the application named mp2_101se.exe in the Maxplus2_se subdirectory on the CD. After installing the MAX+PLUS II software you must obtain a license file online from www.altera.com to activate the software. They will ask you for your computers hard disk serial number. This 8-digit hex number can be found by running the newly installed MAX+PLUS II software and choosing: Options > License Setup > System Info. The hard disk serial number is the eight hex digits that appear after c: drive serial number:
After registering with Altera you will automatically receive a license file via email. The FEATURE lines of this file must then be saved as a .dat file in your \maxplus2 subdirectory (or whichever subdirectory the MAX+PLUS II software is stored in). To do this:
  1. Travelstar Highlight the FEATURE lines sent to you via email.

  2. Gateway Press Ctrl c to create a temporary copy of the lines.

  3. Laptop Parts Open a text editor like Word Pad (Start > programs > accessories > word pad)

  4. Software Press Ctrl v to paste the FEATURE lines into the text editor.

  5. Hard Drives Save the file as c:\maxplus2\license.dat (Be careful because some software programs will add an extra extension after the .dat).

Finally, to activate the MAX+PLUS II software you must provide the location of the license file. To do this, run the MAX+PLUS II software and choose:
Options > License Setup.

Electronics Then enter the file name c:\maxplus2\license.dat and press OK

Canon DATA FILES FOR MAX+PLUS II CPLD EXAMPLES:

There are several examples throughout the textbook of solved CPLD problems. To solve those applications, the MAX+PLUS II CPLD software creates many data files. The most important files for the student to view are shown in the form of screen displays in the textbook. To reproduce the particular screen display the student could enter the design themselves, or just load the files that are included on this CD. To use the data files, first copy all files from the CD sub-directory to your computer's hard disk using Windows Explorer. Change the Properties of all copied files to make them write-able by un-checking the box labeled read-only. Run the MAX+PLUS II software following the instructions in the textbook for creating a new project. Then instead of designing your own circuit or waveforms, just load the file from your hard drive that corresponds to the file name shown in the textbook figure. If you are using the file in a new VHDL program be sure that the new file name matches the entity name in the VHDL program.

Desktop Pc EWB/MultiSIM PROBLEMS:

To open a problem file from the CD using the Textbook Edition of MultiSIM, be sure to specify "Files of type:*.msm" in the "File Open" dialog window.
Electronic Workbench's MultiSIM software is a simulation tool that is used to re-enforce the theory presented in each chapter. It provides an accurate simulation of digital and analog circuit operation along with a simulation of instruments used by a technician to measure IC, component, and circuit characteristics. With this software, you have the ability to build and test most of the circuits presented in this text.
The problems at the end of each chapter in the textbook are based on the circuits and theory presented in the section corresponding to the file name. Before attempting any EWB/MultiSIM problem, you must thoroughly understand the material presented in that textbook section. The problem definition for each circuit is fully explained in the description window that appears in each EWB/MultiSIM file.
The problems are basically three types: 1) Circuit interaction problems require the student to change input values and take measurements at the outputs to verify circuit operation; 2) Design problems require the student to design, or modify, a circuit to perform a particular task; and 3) Troubleshooting Problems require the student to find and fix the fault that exists in the circuit that is given.

Desktop Computers INSTALLING THE TEXTBOOK EDITION OF MULTISIM:

Run the file named setup.exe in the Multisim_txbk_ed subdirectory on the CD.
