Nintendo Reveals January NPD Sales
Laptop Battery Nintendo of America today posted a press release on their media website indicating part of NPD Group's sales numbers for the month of January.
First by touting the proven success of Resident Evil 4 by critics aroud the world, Nintendo announced that at least one game from every Nintendo system made it into the Top 10 for January:
In addition to Resident Evil 4 at No. 1, Nintendo continued its dominance of the hand-held market with The Legend of Zelda(R): The Minish Cap for Game Boy(R) Advance SP at No. 3 overall, Square Enix's KINGDOM HEARTS(R) CHAIN OF MEMORIES for GBA SP at No. 9 and Super Mario(R) 64 DS for Nintendo DS(TM) at No. 10.

5.) Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction (PS2) - 182,621
6.) Need for Speed: Underground 2 (PS2) - 142,465
7.) Madden NFL 2005 (PS2) - 125,264
8.) Halo 2 - 124,027
9.) Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories - 110,297
10.) Super Mario 64 DS - 109,087
Based on these numbers, it really does seem Nintendo had the upper-hand for the first-month of 2005.
laptop computers is driving strong sales for notebook computers, according to the latest quarterly sales figures from the research firm IDC, which reported a 37% computer sales for the second quarter, compared with a year earlier.
