IDGs Mac Publishing LLC Hires Rob Griffiths, Acquires Leading Mac Tips Site MacOSXHints.com
SAN FRANCISCO, June 1, 2005 Today Mac Publishing LLC announced the appointment of MacOSXHints.com founder Rob Griffiths as Senior Editor at both Macworld magazine and Macworld.com, as well as its acquisition of the Mac OS X Hints web site itself. In addition to working closely with the worlds premier source of Macintosh information in print and online, Griffiths will continue in his role as editor of MacOSXHints.com.

"Mac OS X Hints is the industry's leading site for Mac-related tips and tricks, and Rob is a leading Mac expert. This acquisition allows Macworld to add vital editorial talent while also giving MacOSXHints.com room to grow and serve its own unique community even more effectively," said Mac Publishing President Rick LePage.
With shared computers automatically displayed in the sidebar, you can find files on any Mac or PC on your network. You can even use Spotlight and Cover Flow when you search another Mac. But here's where things get really interesting. When you click a connected Mac, you can use screen sharing (if authorized, of course) which lets you do anything you could do if you were sitting in front of that computer. Change a system preference, publish an iPhoto album, or add a new playlist to iTunes.

Just received my SSDSI yesterday and i was amazed and the fabulous images... the only hassle I had was that my LAPTOP is a MAC, and my desktop is a PC, so having to drag my desktop outside in the night air wasn't fun...but once set up and being used... it was great. I REALLY REALLY Wish Orion would make it compatible with MAC computers.... but i still give it 5 stars.

Griffiths and MacOSXHints.com will both continued to be based in Portland, Oregon, with Mac OS X Hints remaining a standalone site for the foreseeable future. Since the site's inception in November 2000, Griffiths and the members of the Web sites community have generated thousands of tips and tricks that make using Mac OS X and its related applications more productive.
