AirRover Wi-Fi Forms Wireless Security, Surveillance and Access Control Division

New Initiative to Capitalize on Existing Wi-Fi Hotspot Platform

BATON ROUGE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2004--AirRover Wi-Fi Corp. (formerly Air-Q Wi-Fi Corporation) (OTCBB:AVWF), a Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) Internet access provider, today announced the formation of its new Wireless Security, Surveillance and Access Control division. This new division is to implement the company's strategy of employing its current and future Wi-Fi hotspots as the platform into which affordable, next-generation Wi-Fi-based security and surveillance systems and devices can be integrated. AirRover hopes to achieve Wi-Fi security products sales success by offering its affordable and flexible security solutions.
"With the increasing availability of affordable Wi-Fi-based security products, we believe the security and surveillance market is a perfect complement to our Wi-Fi hotspot Internet access operations," said David Loflin, AirRover's president.

According to Deepak Shetty, an analyst at Frost & Sullivan, an independent market-research firm based in San Jose, CA, the security industry has grown 13% over the past two years, with Mr. Shetty predicting compound annual growth of 10% to 12% over the next seven years. Said Mr. Shetty, "This has been a growing market. People are more aware of security since 9/11. We've seen a lot of companies entering the security market, such as General Electric and a lot of multinationals. We also see new companies coming in as corporations are investing to create new systems or make existing systems more robust."
