Notebooks Microsoft believesit's going beyond the European Commission's 2004 ruling, according to Smith. But EC is waiting to see just how much of the code Microsoft reveals.

Hard Drive The EC may look at Microsoft's move as a face-saving stunt, according to the language in the EC's statement. But Microsoft says that they will continue to contest the merits of the 2004 decision through the courts.
Travelstar Smith may learn that what works in America is not necessarily what will go in Europe. So far, the European Commission has taken a hard stance against Microsoft and by the looks of today's EC statement, that battle isn't over yet.
Gateway Shares of Microsoft closed up 12 cents at $26.40 Wednesday.
