Merges Simon Elected to DICOM Standards Committee
Laptop Battery By WTN News • 01/28/04 MILWAUKEE- Merge eFilm, a Wisconsin-based global healthcare software and services company, announced Wednesday that Dwight Simon, its medical standards director and senior integration specialist, has been elected as the Co-Chair of the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Standards Committee.
The DICOM Standards Committee creates and maintains international standards for the communication of biomedical, diagnostic and therapeutic information in medical disciplines that use digital images and associated data. The committee was created in 1983 by the American College of Radiology and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association in order to create a standard method for the transmission of medical images and their associated information.
Merge eFilm is a global healthcare software and services company headquartered in Milwaukee and focused on accelerating the productivity of imaging centers, hospitals and clinics with a suite of RIS/PACS software solutions and professional services.
According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.
