According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

Laptop Computers According to Hillaker, the average temperature for the winter of 1999-2000 was 5.5 degrees above normal, the 14th warmest winter in 127 years of state averages. The winter of 1998-1999 was 4.9 degrees above normal, the 15th warmest Iowa winter, and the winter of 1997-1998 was 7.1 degrees above normal, the 6th warmest winter on record.

laptop computers is driving strong sales for notebook computers, according to the latest quarterly sales figures from the research firm IDC, which reported a 37% computer sales for the second quarter, compared with a year earlier. In the U.S., laptop sales grew 17.7%, while sales of desktop computers and servers fell 4%. The New York Times ( 10), CNET ( 10)

Laptop Computer The temperature dropped below zero degrees 12 days in the winter of 1999-2000, 11 days in the winter of 1998-1999 and three days (the smallest number on record) in the winter of 1997-1998, reported Hillaker.

"Computer industry analysts estimate that some 60 percent of all corporate data exists only on desktop and laptop computers, " said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "Incorporating Acronis True Image with New Mexico Software backup server is the ideal solution to capture that corporate data and ensure that it is not lost. While traditional server backups are effective for protecting server data, every company should have a combination of server and workstation backup plans."

Desktop Computer Hillaker reported that, over the last 50 years, an Iowa winter has had an average of 26 days where the temperature drops below zero degrees.

Notebooks "That would be more what we'd be expecting this year," Hillaker said.

Lenovo Colder temperatures raise health concerns and those in the weather, medical and security fields offer precautions.

Hard Drive According to Hillaker, the danger of cold weather depends on the season and how acclimated your body is to cold weather.

Travelstar "Your body really does get used to the cold after awhile," Hillaker said.

Gateway According to Hillaker, the most important safety precaution for cold temperatures is to keep your head warm.

Laptop Parts "As the old boy scout saying goes, 'If your feet are cold, put on a hat,'" Hillaker said.

Software Hillaker estimated that over half of body heat loss is lost out of the top half of your head. Your hands and feet get cold because your blood is traveling to your head.

Hard Drives "If you keep your head warm, the rest of you is going to go along for the ride, so to speak," Hillaker said.

Electronics Hillaker said the second most important thing to remember in cold weather is to stay dry.

Canon "You get chilled very quickly if you're wet," Hillaker said.

Desktop Pc JoEllen Anderson, administrative director of Health Service, said, "If you are exposed to the cold, first degree frostbite is not serious or unusual.

Desktop Computers "All of us have probably had first degree frostbite at one time."

Think Pad Symptoms of first degree frostbite are temporary tenderness and reddened skin. If these symptoms do not go away after you have been inside for a few minutes, Anderson recommends that you stop by Health Service.

Repair When out in the cold, Anderson also said to keep in mind that "people think alcohol keeps them warmer when it actually has the opposite effect."

Data Recovery This concerns Jim Ahles, supervisor of security and information services, who said he sees a lot of students go downtown drinking who are not dressed very warmly.

Cisco If you go downtown drinking and fall on the way back, you run the risk of getting hypothermia, Ahles said.

Keyboard Another concern Anderson mentioned was the increased susceptibility in cooler temperatures to colds and flues. Cold weather weakens the immune system, so you actually need more rest and fluids in the winter than you do in the summer, Anderson said.

Monitor "In the winter time, if one person gets a cold, chances are that another person will catch the cold pretty quickly," Anderson said. "In the summer, on the other hand, when the windows are open and our immune system is probably stronger, colds and viruses are passed less quickly."

Desktop To help protect yourself from germs, Anderson recommends washing your hands frequently.

Infosys Also, Anderson said Health Services received a full supply of the flu vaccine just last week. Vaccinations will be given on Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to the first 250 students to sign up for it.
