"I mean, Honda and Toyota haven't sold all that many hybrid cars yet, at least as a percentage of new car sales, but they have received a lot of publicity for being the first companies to develop this technology. That publicity improves the public perception of these two companies, and it brings more people to our showrooms, even people who have no intention of buying hybrid cars."
Technology The danger of green technology, at least as for those in the industry, comes from the specter of government regulation.
Mainframe New Jersey's legislature spent much of the fall debating the merits of copying California's extremely strict regulations on automobile emissions - rules that require ever-increasing percentages of new cars sold to burn less (or no) fuel and emit less (or no) pollution.

Hosting "If government bodies want to encourage green cars, if they think it is in the public interest, then they should use public money to provide incentives, both for research and for people to buy green cars. Given that everyone benefits from less pollution, it isn't fair to make one industry shoulder all of the costs of making it happen."
