Two Games, One Cartridge
THQ today introduced its latest innovation, Dual Packs. Dual Packs are two top-selling titles on a single Game Boy Advance cartridge. Effectively, Dual Packs are two games for the price of one.
"As the long-standing leader of the handheld gaming market, THQ is pleased to be the first company to release these innovative dual packs for the Game Boy Advance. The compilation Game Paks present a tremendous value to consumers allowing kids to interact with their favorite characters from top-rated TV shows in multiple adventures," said Tiffany Ternan, Senior Vice Ppresident of North American Sales and Distribution for THQ.
The first Dual Pack is available now for $29.99, and features two SpongeBob SquarePants games. In SpongeBob SquarePants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman, SpongeBob must seek out 10 lost treasures that have been scattered throughout Bikini Bottom in order to reverse a curse placed on him by the Dutchman. Players can explore 11 levels within five chapters including Bikini Bottom, Jellyfish Fields, Outer Town, Goo Lagoon and Dutchman's Underworld. In SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge, SpongeBob is on a mission a mission to seek out autographs from heroes Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy for his friend Patrick's birthday. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy make SpongeBob complete silly errands like retrieving beauty products from the bottom of the world and bringing them Kelp Kandy Bars in exchange for their signatures. The two heroes even make SpongeBob travel back through time to retrieve a Shell Bra outfit made of rare clams.
The second Dual Pack is available now for $19.99, and features two Scooby-Doo! games. In Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo are thrown into five episode adventure where they must explore to solve a mystery of "supernatural proportions." Gamers will be able to explore the Tome of Doom, capture monsters, and even eat up Scooby Snacks as they travel through an abandoned movie set, a ghoulish Wild West theme park, a bayou, and other locations. In Scooby-Doo and the Cyber Chase, Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo accidentally beam themselves into a videogame. Unfortunately, the Phantom Virus came along too. In the search for the culprit behind the virus, gamers must battle villains, solve puzzles, find clues, and deal with the gang's virtual counterparts.
The third Dual Pack will be available in late March 2005, for $29.99 and will feature two Power Rangers games. In Power Rangers Time Force, gamers take control of the Power Rangers in a quest through time to stop the evil Ransik and his minions. Settings include the Wild West, Ancient Egypt, the Roman Empire, and the 21st Century. In Power Rangers Ninja Storm, gamers must defeat an evil ninja master and his minions in traditional side scrolling battle action.
