According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

Laptop Computers There are watershed moments in which world
events and popular perceptions
of them are changed. The week of protests at the World Trade
Organization meeting in Seattle in November 1999 was
indisputably such a moment. Not only were the tens of thousands
of protesters and delegates who gathered in Seattle changed by
the experience, but
people throughout the United
States, and around the world, stopped and took notice of the WTO
and its impact on their lives. After a decade of fighting
defensive battles, fair-trade activists began to set the terms
of the globalization debate.

opposition to free trade policies took place in the US: the
transnational corporations backyard. Seattle set off a series of
protests against unbridled free trade and "neoliberal" policies
from Washington DC to Quito to Melbourne to Chang Mai to Prague to
Quebec. Fairly or unfairly they've all be compared to the high

Desktop Computer CorpWatch was in Seattle. We co- produced "World Trade Watch,"
five hour-long, live radio
programs, which you can listen to on the site. We demonstrated
against Dow/Union Carbide on the anniversary of the Bhopal
disaster. We met with colleagues from around the world. We
hardly slept. And we felt the sting of tear gas, as Seattle
police moved to clear the streets of demonstrators.
Notebooks We also produced an in-depth look at corporate influence on the
WTO, it's rulings and the impact of those decisions on ordinary
citizen's lives on CorpWatch.org. That effort laid the foundation
for the groundwork for the WTO section of our Issue Library which
we have been updating since Seattle. More recent information
includes the debate around China's entry into the WTO, the need to
build alliances between the anti-globalization movement and
organizations of color in the US, international perspectives on
free trade and more. Keep checking back, for on-going updates to
this section.
