Desktop Computer Prior to his career at Six Continents PLC, Sir Ian served for three years at Cooper Brothers (now Coopers & Lybrand), Chartered Accountants. He was admitted to membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales in 1967.
Notebooks Sir Ian holds a bachelor`s degree in commerce from Birmingham University in England, from which he also received an honorary doctorate in 2001. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the World Travel & Tourism Council and is also a member of the CBI President`s Committee.
He also has been a director of the Council of Brewers and Licensed Retailers Association, and served as Chairman of the organisation from 1992 to 1994. In addition, Sir Ian served as Chairman of the Stock Exchange Listed Companies Advisory Council from 1992 to 1998. Sir Ian was knighted in January 1995.
