like Mega Man X: Command Mission and Mega Man X8 come out, fans of
the series will continue to be challenged by these 8 classic games
and entertained by the 2 games theyve never played. This collection
of Mega Man games has been dreamed about and wanted by many a gamer
for a long time. Mega Man is a very important staple franchise in
the videogame industry.
I would say at least give Mega Man Anniversary Collection a rental. If you have never played a Mega Man game before, please do so, you will thank me later. As for Mega Man fans, I dont think I need to tell you what you already know. If you can fit this title into your budget (I know it is hard when trying to save for the rest of GCN amazing 2004 lineup), wait no longer to throw yourself back in time for worth while blast from the past.

Man started as a simple graphics designer for characters in
videogames, he has designed the characters for games like Street
Fighter, and of course, Mega Man. When Inafune first presented the
finished Mega Man game to the Capcom executives, they were cynical
and said the game would not sell, but Inafune released the game
anyways, at their behest of course, and to their surprise, it sold
like hotcakes, prompting them to get it over to the US, which in
effect caused a small problem, they had no time to make proper box
art, and while it didnt matter back then, it wouldve caused quite a
stir today if they came out with a box art that disturbing. The
games success in America convinced them to make sequels
successively year after year, each to great, but eventually
dwindling success as the snes came out, forcing them to produce
Mega Man X on the new system, following up with Mega Man X 2 and
Mega Man 7 soon afterwards, to massive success, this is the first
time in history that Capcom allowed two series of the same
franchise to coexist on the same console. After Mega Man X3 came
out, Capcom began Mega Man 8 and Mega Man X4, both released in
1997, celebrating Mega Mans 10th anniversary. Both sold extremely
well, a testament to Mega Mans continuing popularity even
today.

the frame rates have been smoothed out, but any glitches have been

paragraph is because in the original game you would just walk

to be a graphical glitch.

Moving onto the games themselves, the games have had all bugs and
programming errors corrected as
mentioned above, but the games themselves in terms of sounds
(excluding music on the PS2 version) and
game play, remain faithful to the original designs, which is
good news for fans. Mega Man1-8 are just as you remember them,
but there is one change with Mega Man 8, that change is the lack
of loading times within the game, a true testament to how much
greater this generations technology is compared to last
generations technology. We can only hope that they do something
like this for Mega Man X in the next generation. All 8 classic
Mega Man games are here in their entirety, plus 2 unreleased
fighting games only released in Japanese arcades previously for
some multiplayer
fun. The collection has been
entirely localized. Atomic Planet has used all of the US
versions of the games to make this collection enjoyable for the
American audience. They have done an excellent job of creating
this compilation for us to enjoy.
