Desktop Computer Itronics managed to raise $3.4 million in 1999 and began developing plans for the world's first photochemical plant to manufacture liquid fertilizers. Since then the company has managed to clear environmental hurdles to produce usable fertilizer out of the chemical wastes developed from film processing, and more importantly, to develop markets for those products.
Notebooks Itronics released revenue figures on January 11, 2005 of its GOLD'n GRO liquid fertilizer sales by its subsidiary, Itronics Metallurgical, Inc. of $1,020,000, an 84 percent increase over the prior year total. Dr. John Whitney, Itronics President, hinted at his company's bullish expectations for the coming year in that announcement. "GOLD'n GRO sales are expected to expand significantly again in 2005 due to increased sales of new products introduced in 2004 and because of geographic expansion of sales of the most popular products into Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and several northeastern states."

Hard Drive Itronics shares have been on a slow climb after having drifted from its 52-week hi of $0.205 to as low as $0.051 at the beginning of January. Now it seems the company is in a position to the market its GOLD n' GRO liquid fertilizer is here to stay.The company announced January 8 that it had registered GOLD n' GRO in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.Advertisement
Travelstar "During the past two years we have test marketed the GOLD'n GRO products in the Retail Nursery and Landscape Maintenance markets in Rhode Island," said Whitney. "We found that the products are competitive when purchased in bulk from the manufacturing plant in Reno, Nevada, and marketed by a qualified liquid fertilizer distributor."
Gateway Whitney said that his company is looking into a qualified bulk distributor for New York and New Jersey in the agricultural markets, though no information was given as to whether or not Itronics was close to inking a deal there.
Laptop Parts AXcess News attempted to reach Dr. Whitney Thursday to comment further on those markets but was told he was out of town. Most likely Whitney is ahead of the game once more and already dealing with distributors on the east coast to manage those new market opportunities.Itronics shares closed Thursday at $0.115, unchanged from the previous days closing price.
