Laptop Computers surface-shape operator has invariant properties under linear and monotonic gray-tone transformations, and is insensitive to additive noises modeled by linear functions, so it has robustness with brightness variations and shading effects. Finally, we illustrate applicability of the surface-shape operator with applications to image classifications. The proposed method is compared with the spatial gray-level-dependence method and the multiresolution simultaneous autoregressive method. The results show that the proposed method works better, and has much more robustness with brightness variations and shading effects than those methods.

Laptop Parts This paper presents a method for developing a trademark retrieval system. The proposed method is based on both the techniques using content-based image features and the annotation. The visually similar contents and the semantically similar contents are two important issues in designing our trademark system. This system uses integration of invariant moments, aura/cooccurrence matrix based features and code labels. We use standard codes instead of textual or keyword labels which are previously used in the other systems to achieve the desired results. We perform experiments on a database of trademark images containing 927 images including some noisy or deformed trademarks to evaluate performance of the system. Results show that the proposed method can retrieve both the visually and semantically similar trademarks that agree with human perception to some degree, and it is robust to noise or small variance of a pattern such as translation, rotation, reflection and scale change.

Repair This paper proposes a new roughness index used in image classification. The proposed roughness index is defined by utilizing the Surface-Curvedness operator, scale-space based multiscale analysis, and fractal theory. It has robustness with brightness variations and shading effects. We have shown its usefulness in an application to texture image classification. Results show that the proposed roughness index can remarkably improve the correct classification rate.

Intel In this paper, we present a multi-agents model for IR, namely IR agents, for information retrieval on WWW. An IR agent consists of three types of agent, Managing agents for extracting the semantics of information and managing the details of co-ordinate agents, Interface agents for interacting between the system and users, and Search agents for discovering the information on WWW. This work focuses on the use of XML technology for information retrieval on WWW. In our model, agents communicate with each other to perform IR tasks by using XML as an agent communication language. They also express their knowledge bases and the semantics of their search results in XML format. As a result, users are able not only to access information more precisely from semantically encoded search results that are returned from our model, but also to utilize the content of the results without using proprietary tags or customized scripts to scrape web pages to extract the content.

Computer Hardware In this research, we intend to create a visual software tool as well as develop data models for designing small real-time applications. With this tool, a designer can quickly specify the behavior as well as the constraints for the applications graphically. The runnable, specific to a microcontroller platform will be generated and ready to be programmed into an EPROM. Designing the data models underlying the software is a major task in the software engineering part. We propose the data models that employ hierarchical relationship as well as take advantages of object-oriented design. Compared to current real-time software tools, they only deal with high-level abstraction of real-time systems without considering the low-level code of the application ready to be used.
