Highlands Issue Paramount In Hunterdon

Laptop Battery Despite increasing school enrollment and suffocating traffic on some of Hunterdon County's main roads, the most important issue in the rural county is not school taxes or Route 31 construction and traffic.

According to the indictment, Jones would steal various IBM and Penguin computer servers from Verisign's warehouse in Virginia and sell them to Johnson. Johnson would then sell the servers to several individuals, who would sometimes place them for sale on eBay. As a result of this scheme, the indictment alleges that Jones and Johnson caused Verisign to lose more than $120, 000 worth of computer equipment. In the indictment, Jones and Johnson are charged in three counts with causing the interstate transportation of stolen property, namely IBM 330 and 335 servers, in violation of 18 U.S.C.

Microsoft "Demographically, we are the best in the state of New Jersey -- we are the best educated and the wealthiest," Karrow said. "I really think the Highlands legislation is the most pressing issue."

"Computer industry analysts estimate that some 60 percent of all corporate data exists only on desktop and laptop computers, " said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "Incorporating Acronis True Image with New Mexico Software backup server is the ideal solution to capture that corporate data and ensure that it is not lost. While traditional server backups are effective for protecting server data, every company should have a combination of server and workstation backup plans."

Laptop Computers The forum, presented by a panel of four, was hosted by the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce and was designed to inform local business owners and residents about the status of the county, in relation to traffic, legislation and economics.

laptop computers is driving strong sales for notebook computers, according to the latest quarterly sales figures from the research firm IDC, which reported a 37% computer sales for the second quarter, compared with a year earlier. In the U.S., laptop sales grew 17.7%, while sales of desktop computers and servers fell 4%. The New York Times ( 10), CNET ( 10)

Laptop Computer Karrow discussed the issue with the 50 business owners, residents and local officials who attended the meeting. She said she feared the legislation will not help eliminate growth but that towns will be left with a "swatch of green surrounded by housing with forced growth."

Despite the amendments, which primarily exempt agricultural activities from most of the Highlands regulations, some farmers in Warren and Hunterdon counties still are not happy about the legislation. In a telephone interview last week, Kuperus said there are 35, 000 acres of farmland in the core preservation area and more than 153, 000 acres of farmland in the Highlands region. But too often the Highlands is thought of in terms of forested areas and reservoirs, not the farms that complement those areas, he said.

Desktop Computer The Highlands, which cuts across seven northwestern counties and holds the water supply for half the state, has come under increasing development pressure that scientists say could threaten water quality in the future. Fifteen of Hunterdon's 26 municipalities are part of the Highlands region, Karrow said.

Notebooks The bill would create a regional council with veto power over large- scale development in a core protection area. Those important watershed lands take up 395,000 acres, roughly half the Highlands. Much of the core is already preserved or developed, with about 145,000 acres privately held. There is strong debate over a key provision that would allow large development proposals within the core that have already won some approvals to go forward.

Lenovo "Hunterdon County has done a very good job of preserving the northern part of the county," Karrow said. "I'm not saying this bill is bad, what I am saying is that we need to be paying attention to it and it's bad the way it is being pushed and the way it is being handled."

Hard Drive Karrow also spoke about this year's budget, which she said was the most "fiscally conservative" and the best budget passed in 11 years. She said that the county is in a good position for the future because for the last four to five years, the freeholders have been putting millions of dollars into surplus.

Travelstar "This year we increased our surplus amount by $6 million," Karrow said. "Since 1998 we've even been putting in $7,500 a year so that in 2014 -- when Hunterdon celebrates its tri-centennial -- there will be $100,000 for the big party."

Gateway John Glynn, director of the county roads, bridge and engineering department, outlined several county and state traffic projects underway and planned for the future.

Laptop Parts According to Glynn, the Route 31 construction in Raritan Township should be completed by December. The pavement repairs on Church Street in Flemington should be completed by June, while the proposed circle improvements have been pushed to 2008 by the Department of Transportation. Renovation projects on Exit 15 in Clinton Town include three designs, all of which will improve capacity off Route 78 and onto Route 173, Glynn said.

Software "Traffic has grown at a rate of 2 to 4 percent and most of it is outside (people) coming through," Glynn said. "We all want to preserve the lifestyle and the ambience, but we have to provide safety on the roads."

Hard Drives Glynn also said that the DOT has pulled the Route 31 bypass project -- an issue that will be addressed at a May 25 freeholders meeting. The issue of a potential park-and-ride in Clinton Township has yet to be explored, but officials said they are opposed to Hunterdon carrying the burden of a large 1,000-car metro center for neighboring counties and Pennsylvania.

Electronics County projects include several road pavings and about six intersection improvements.

Canon In addition to Karrow and Glynn, Frank Bell, Hunterdon County project manager, and George Wagner, the county's public safety director, talked about safety and building renovation projects in the county.

Desktop Pc Suzanne Lagay, president of the county Chamber of Commerce, said she hoped yesterday was the beginning of an annual effort to update people on the state of the county.

Desktop Computers "It's meetings like this that are the most important thing that we do," Lagay said.
